Super Grounding
I decided the other day to repair some grounds on my 87 tII. I bought this car from a 75 year old Japanese man that had it from day one. It has 55,000 miles on it. Everything on this car (was) bone stock with all service records which were very detailed down to the last oil change. In time of course things start to go bad.I stripped away the battery ground and all of the loom and crap around it. This ground goes directly to an engine/tranny bolt and the stock wire should have a yellow stripe on it. This connection will get shitty after time and is one of the most important grounds. I used about three feet of 2ga and connected one end to the battery cable and the other end to a bolt right behind the oil filter. The other ground that I replaced was the one going from the firewall next to the windsheildwiper motor to the back of the block. I used about 18'' of 2ga and 2 ring connectors. Yes the size is overkill but the results are great. My alt voltage jumped an the idle and throttle response was super impressive. The headlights are also much brighter. I also completed all of the other suggested grounding as per blackrx7 a few months ago, but did not see that much difference.
