Xcessive mount kit
Any one here mount the 20B using the Xcessive mount kit, oil pan, and Cross Member mod kit? For what I can see it mounts the engine same as 13B stock location.
Can you post any pics up here? I haven't seen any pics installed yet. Also, I though the kit made it so you don't have to mod the subframe (oil pan adaptor kit allows it to fit)?

Thanks.
Those pictures were helpful. I don't get why the excessive kit requires such modification to the subframe when the defined kit doesn't. They both put the engine in the same location.
I wonder if you did the defined steering rack shave you'd be able to leave the subframe alone with the rest of the excessive kit.

I was talking with Lou-how-ya-do about both kits last night since he previously had the Defined kit and this is what I get from it. The Defined kit keeps the engine at a angle in order to barely clear the subframe and steering rack, but still won't clear one of the P/S fittings, that's why you have to send the rack to them.
With the Xcessive kit you have to notch the subframe and weld the subframe kit, with this you lower the engine on the front about 1" and keeps it more level, also it allows you to keep A/C, P/S and Alt in stock location. So for around $1500 you get the engine mount kit, subframe weld in kit, and the oil pan kit, however you don't get the the shorter intake as you get with Defined when you send them your LIM to be cut and welded. But you can always send it to Chip and he can take care of that part and the Xcessive kit should be around same price as the Defined Deluxe kit, or you can buy the Xcessive Short LIM.
I'm leaning towards the Xcessive kit, I have seeing in person some of the parts that were modified by Defined and wasn't to impressed with the quality of the work done to the parts they modified.

I have the motor mounts and mount adptors for the 20B. They are top quality. If the rest of the pieces are as good then it seems like a good kit. To mount it the same height as defined and avoid the subframe mod you could just put a spacer under the motor mount.
I think the excessive short LIM is a no brainer vs modifying stock. Maybe we could get a package deal haha

Agree, by the time you mod your LIM you only a few hundred away from buying the Xcessive Short LIM. They should make a whole package deal with or without the Short LIM.
Also looking at the Xcessive Subframe it was also made in order to also clear their oil pan kit front sump.

Only thing I don't like is that bracing they did to the passenger side mount, I guess I can add solid bracing to it.

the lower intake from xcessive is still not short enough to clear with the defined mounts trust me i went every which way possible to make it work so i wouldn't have to drop the rack and at the end of the day you have to drop it for it to be right
I spoke with Chip not to long ago about making me a sub frame that doesn't change the rack position and allows me to move the block further back from the stock 13b position... He said he will be releasing a solution that will accomplish this with the stock sub frame.
that would def be a game changer but at this point i'm way to deep in this build to change it all for me i did the t56 and cobra irs pushing everything back would just be a pain in the ***
Does anyone have a better number for Xcessive. Try to call few times but always get the answering machine, I guess I leave a message next time, trying to see if the make a bundle package from the parts needed to do the swap.
Phil Sohn is running defined + excessive lim; can't speak on his behalf but I assume it clears. Personally my defined modded lim + mounts with shine hood yields little over 2" clearance.
spoke to phil about this he had to basically re do everything with those mounts to make it work he said he mine as well made his own kit at that point trust me when i tell you i covered every way possible i aint bullshitin lol
That's unfortunate, I also thought about running the xcessive LIM one day but if this is the case then I'll stick with what I have. However I wonder if the xcessive oil pan will clear the stock height rack using the defined mounts. It would be nice if they gave dimensions on their products..

If not then I will order individual pieces, I'm ready to install a dummy block to muck up the turbo manifold.
Thanks
Luis.
