worlds fastest 20b rotor
this is jose "siguel" torres world fastest mazda rx-7
siguel who is from puerto rico blasted a 7.13@189mph at the nhrasportcompact event in houston last week.
look for him to dip into the 7.0 or lower this weekend in maple grove.

however look for this guy juan otero who currently has a 1972 mazda rx-3 running 8.00@166mph in his second outing to running even faster then siguel in his new 1993 mazda rx-7. the car is under construccion, look at it below.

Siguel
dont hate guys, those 242mph are nothing to write home about. if siguel can run 189mph in a 1/4 imagine what he can run in nevada
that 242mph by that 20b was done with 900+hp
siguel has 1,200+hp without NOS.
but lets not argue here, we are all rx-7 fans.

i dont know why they went that route, i would think that a 20B would have been cheaper/more sensible, as it is already designed for boost. (lower comp than the 13G)
so yes, Siguel may very well be the worlds quickest AND fastest 20B powered car.....

Not to take away from torres but I was clocked on radar at 192 in Nevada during the silver state classic last September. Those of you who have seen the car at KD rotary know I am not BS'ing. This September the car should be in the 200 - 205 range. The race is 100 miles on a closed secondary highway...it is a blast. My quarter mile times suck as the car is not built for drag racing...a 8" clutch dosent make for good launches!. I am sure there are faster cars in New Zealad.....there is always a 'fastest' car.
My next race is in Mexico July 20th.

thats very good bermuda, i believe you, but keep in mind that siguel does 189mph in a 1/4 mile. with over 1000+hp on tap theres no telling what it could run in the desert.
bermuda were can i see pics of your car.
another question, i hear alot about new zealand and australia. i know australia backs it up with their rotaries, how about new zealand? what do their rotaries run?
thanks for your comments.

sakurarey....I will find the link for you.
The difference between siguel other than what you mentioned is that I do it for close to 1/2 an hour at a time, not for 7 or 8 sec....reliability is the key issue for me. An example is finding tires that will run at that speed. None of the tire companies will directly say that you can use the tires for the speeds we are using. Using slicks is risky as we are runining on roads and slicks punture easy...not to mention that slicks are usually only good for about 60 miles. I use Michelin Pilot MMMX's. The tires are good for one race (anyone who wants used sets, I have a bunch (only 100 miles on each set).

although siguel goes 7.1 (one of my fav racers) you are comparing apples and oranges. Siguel has a motor that is designed to make big HP for short times, there is no way that motor will hold 1200rwhp for long enough period of time to hit top speed in a salt flat.. 242 MPH Is something to write home about. Its the record so thats that.

Actualy NZ is far behind in the rotary racing scene, we have some awesome road cars here but the country is small, small budgets etc so there are not a lot of full on race cars here and very few big meetings to race at in comparison to OZ or US.
I don't think you will find any RX-7's in NZ that will top 300km/h, not road cars anyway, well not that I have seen.
The problem with NZ's times is that 99% of the cars that race here are built solely as road cars and run road tyres at the track. Unlike in the US or OZ where they use drag valving in their suspension etc and race/road tyres and on prepped tracks, which is also another hard thing to find in the import scene here, a prepped track, like chickens teeth.
Its starting to change though.

the only rotary in NZ that would top out at 300+kph would be Anton Tallot's BAT007 which i see Mr Healy ran at the drags and did a 10.8 or something similar, good time for a tarseal rally car, that car is one of the FEW properly built rotarys in NZ, when i say properly built, i mean, REAL sized turbo, Top quality EFI system etc etc etc

speed nyc,
I have one set left,
235*40*18 and 265*35*18
The tires are in vegas...900 a set (20% off new). The tires have properly been heat cycled and have 100 miles. They are in perfect shape.
