I ran a stock 20b w/ twins the first few years of my conversion. The stock turbos eventually failed and the rest is history. It ran well, pump gas all day long. I'm not sure about the power, I never dyno'd it.

i ran a stock block with a medium size single turbo for a couple years. It made ~460whp IIRC with a nice powerband, but I got tired of the setup. Stock 20b exhaust ports are very restrictive, so spool time isnt great unless you keep the stock turbos.

Would like to know more information on your setup? dyno numbers? spool up time? Any more info would be helpful as im contemplating installing the 20b engine without porting because of lack of funds as of right now. I will be using either a 42r or 45r and stick to pumpgas for now but wondering what the power limits are on the stock 20b.

Dyno is in the sig. I didn't put many miles (<500) on it in its last incarnation, so I can't offer a whole lot there.

T6 GT4202R through an A-spec manifold ( Shameless plug: which is for sale, BTW). Stock transmission and differential.

4-inch DP and exhaust all the way through.

Stock 20B UIM and TB. The LIM was shortened ~1.75". V-mount with a 4-inch thick Bell intercooler.

Anything else?

For what it's worth, I'm practically certain that the fall-off in torque that starts gradually around 5500 RPM is due to the stock exhaust ports inhibiting flow, hence wanting to open it up.

^ yes, it is. I had exactly the same problem, switching to ported FD sleeves fixed it.

how much power did u make on the stock ports with that turbo setup?

That was on a 0.5-bar WG spring only. Boost went to ~9 psi and then dropped to ~7 psi and stayed.

I never did a compression test, but based on my experience, I'd say that it was "good".

( Shameless plug: my manifold is still for sale, BTW. One of these days I'll get off my *** and actually make an FS ad )
