whats all involved?? search function is broke
My search function is broken!! I know this question is ask maybe 2 times a day, but I was just so interested in why its was so expensive to do the swap. Im not asking anybody to type out all the things that have to be done but maybe a link where somebody allready explained it. How many of you did the conversion your self???

since I have a fd, will the price go up?? i only read the first thread becuase Im gettin tired and just got off work. My fd has all fuel mods, radiator, fmic, ect.. everything that flows with the t-78. Would this be a success full upgrade, or would I be wasting my money(what money???
) If it cost around 25k to do it, then why the hell does pettit charge 39k?? I think I just want one just to say I have a 3rotor. If I decide to do it, Im going to get some V8 guy to do the swap for cheap. Will it make my fd a better daily driver, since there twice less load on the motor as with the 13b??

The bad thing about the FD is that it requires a custom sub-frame, which I think Pettit sells for about $3K, but maybe your V8 buddies could make you one for a case of beer. 
Fortunately, it sounds like you can re-use a lot of your mods, so that will bring the price down. It sounds like you could do the swap for under $10K if you can get a good deal on the sub-frame. However, it depends a lot on how you build it (ie free 20B stock turbos vs. T78 and $800 custom manifold, $100 custom steel DP for current exhaust vs. $2,600 custom SS exhaust, $1500 Haltech E6K vs. $7000 Motec M800, rebuild the engine or take a chance with the used engine, etc.).
Pro shops need to charge a lot for such things because of all their overhead (facilities, tools & equipment, research & development, employees, liability, advertising, etc.). The purpose of a business is to make money, and they will go out of business if they do all their work at cost.
I think the extra torque would actually make it a worse daily driver, especially in the rain. Your car was a good daily driver with the stock turbos, LOL.

well i dont do wot in the rain, and I also dont think I need anymore torqe than I already have. But maybe in a couple of years it will happen. thanks guys thats all I really needed to know.
