Wastegate of choice

wastegate for your single turbo 20b setup. Please post if you have experience w/ boost issue and ,or positive results. HKS, greddy ,deltaII (turbonetics), tial....any others im forgetting. Also sizes.... not intrested in overkill and too small is dangerous.

I'm not sure if there is such thing as overkill when talking about a single wastegate. It is one of the most critical components of a high performance setup - besides the engine internals and EMS.

If I had unlimited funds the new Tial 46mm would be my choice. This topic really has been covered a lot, check out the search function for "wastegate" in the Rotary Performance AND Single Turbo forums, maybe even the 3rd Gen forum.

I know wastegates have been covered a bit but what gates have failed people...
example 38mm tial..... too small for 20b's but work well for 13b's
too large of a gate adds to lag... example.. the 60mm HKS... anyone have exposure to that one?
I dont have much info on greddy... anyone...anyone?
its an honest question and could help others too on WHAT TO AVOID for the most part.
another thought... anyone try the new tial? I hate being the lab rat and wont be w/ an engine i had a hard enough time getting.

Instead of limiting to what people use on 20B's, look at what people are using on very high HP 13B's.
A wastegate doesn't know what type of engine it's on, it just has to flow a certain amount of air properly.

Why don't you save yourself $5,000 and just use the stock 20B turbo unit?

How do you figure that?

In that case you should forget the 20B project.
