Vmount intercooler ina 20B FC
Vmount intercooler ina 20B FC
Hi guys,
I would love to do a Vmount setup for the intercooler/radiator in my FC with the 20B. I think that would provide the best cooling period. Both the IC and the radiator will get cold air. How much room is there though?
I have a 600x300x100mm intercooler, and an AFCO 3" radiator. I was thinking about cutting the upper radiator support, relocating relays, horns, etc, and installing it like that. Is there enough room in a 20B setup though?
I also have a 13B RE that is going in the same car. Fully built, with full bridge port, Atkins 3mm seals, etc. I am planning on running the same parts on both engines - Haltech E11V2, GT42R, HKS 60mm GT2 wastegate, AFCO radiator, intercooler, Tial BOVs, OS Giken triple disk clutch, TII tranny, cosmo mounts, etc. I already have these parts. The only differences would be in a couple IC pipes, 2 extra coils, several wiring subharnesses, the exhaust manifolds, and the downpipe.
After that, I can swap in engines in a matter of 2-3 hours. So every other week I can drive the setup I want.
Thanks for your input...

Bastard! My idea! Heh.
Seriously though, I've thought about that same thing. I'm still trying to determine if it's worth doing or not. It would definitely be trick though! I think that your idea for a location is a good one. It's the same thing I had in mind as well.
Good luck with it! If I actually get to work on mine, I'll keep you updated.
