Unknown Seals Taking aparte front stack

So while taking apart the front stack on my 20b I noticed some different things which I never knew about or figure out what they were for. When I removed the front pulley bolt and front hub, there seemed to be some sort of plastic that was holding in the front hub which i broke when I pulled it off. What is this for?

Also, I noticed there was a fat black ring on the front counter-weight. What is the purpose of that there? I originally thought it was removable and put a minor chip on the side when I tried to pry it, is it replaceable or should I not worry? Thanks.

Well I was referring to the black ring on the counter-weight... but its probably for the same purpose. I guess I shouldn't worry about the minor chip then, anyone know what its for, for sure though?

I didn't even notice the one on the oil pump gear since I pull the gear and the oil pump off together with the chain.

Anyone have any idea about the plastic ring that seemed to be holding the front stationary gear in place?
