unboxing/review FFE Rails
So i felt a huge pressure to share this with you guys , and iam exited at the same time
I haven`t posted in a while , so for you guys to know the car is running , works great with a few little quirks
a/c is out , but i am having that fixed in the coming weeks ( i have a new a/c compressor on the way )
and i had this nasty leak on my intake manifold , the primary injectors were not sealing right , plus my fuel rail brackets were braking on me ( the main reason was that the bracket material i chose was too thin and the primary injectors were not the 'proper' fit )
so i decided to swap out the whole thing in order to make sure there are no more problems in that area
billy from FFE hooked me up with their fuel rail kit for 20B and supposedly i am the first person to have these so i am sharing these with you guys , i will be installing these this coming weekend , and i will post some pics also
these pics are mainly unboxing , and as you can see they look awesome .
everything is neatly packaged , in individual wraps
also includes fittings for the rails (-8) with o-rings
the rails are black only , so keep that in mind .
they are laser engraved and have a nice smooth finish
it also includes all the plugs for the injectors ,in my case the combo was 1000 primaries ,2000 secondaries(injector dynamics) , the plugs for the secondaries are different from the primaries , i think this is good so it makes it easier to identify when they are attached to the harness
The injectors also include the aluminium insert at the tip to insert in the manifold for a tight fit ( i will need to take better pictures of those )
The brackets are also sturdy aluminium and look very high quality
also there are some cards in the box (handling instructions for the injectors etc etc ) and a cool decal
i will be installing this this weekend (i hope my schedule allows it) and i will keep you guys posted , if any of you have questions , let me know

so , the primary rail goes for 195 and the secondary goes for 250 , that in itself is not bad considering the quality of these pieces ,i will try and post some more close up pictures of them .
you can tell ,a lot of thought went into these , and they look great .
what made my "kit" expensive (around $1500) is the fact that shipping to me is expensive ,about $100 (i am not in the US) and i got the Injector dynamics injectors (all six ) , while these injectors might be expensive , i believe for the time being i wont need to worry about them for any time soon
so far i cant say anything bad of these , i am still short on time but the final verdict will be when i install them , i will be checking how well these seal (air and fuel), check for fitment ,and ease of installation
i will keep you guys posted

Ok
so i managed to squeeze in some time and installed these yesterday , i`m not completely done with it yet , but i`ll share some thought as i go along .
First its very basic install , very simple and pretty self explanatory (after all , its fuel rails , not a diff :-)
some key points are the spacers that insert in the manifold (and engine for primaries) , the machining quality seems great and the fit is tight , so i`m pretty sure there wont be any vacuum leaks etc there
the fuel rails also have a nice machined finish at the threads and also has the o-ring groove so the fuel fitting with o-ring (included) fits nice and snug
another feature i liked on the primary rail is that the bracket/pedestal the bolts it to the engine has a groove on the top ,which fits in a groove in the fuel rail (see picture) , when all this is bolted together it is rock solid , there is no play whatsoever you can shake the entire engine by holding on to this and the rail wont budge ,that was cool
now the only "gripe" ,if you can call it that , that i had , was because of the design (and injectors) the injector plugs (primary only) have to face the LIM , while it`s no big deal ,keep this in consideration , i have an existing harness , i was lucky i could move the wires around a bit , but if your wiring is short , you might have to get creative, if for some reason you need to probe test your primaries etc , it might be a little difficult
also keep in mind the primary rail will not work with the regular "old school " injectors , again this is by design , or at least i don`t see any way of it working with the older style injectors
other than that , it all seems solid , installs rather easy (hardest part was the injector plugs , so go figure)
the main thing abut this setup that struck me is how solid it is , there is no flexing of any kind and the rails feel like they are part of the engine now (i hope i`m explaining this right )
i still need to connect all the fittings today (hopefully time allows this) and i will keep you guys posted
any feedback is appreciated

ok
here is the final assembled picture
nothing leaks , everything is very sturdy and there are no fitment issues
in this pic you can see the primary injector position , while not a dealbreaker for me its definatly something to consider
i do have a idle issue at the moment , not sure where it came from , but i think its not related
other than that , there is not much too it , too bad that when you out the UIM on it you can hardly see it , but then again its not there to just look pretty , its there to make some ponies ,safely
