A turbonetics T72 will be fine with stock ports and internals. Use fd rotor housings if you plane to rebuild it. You'll also need a 50mm or larger wastegate to handle the boost. Also if it's a dedicated drag car the stock transmission will not tollerate any launches with sticky tires. I personally don't have any dealings with these people but this is what i'm looking into.

Yea, the engine in the pic is the motor of choice. If you can find out what # it is. There where some issues with some of the early on 20b motors. Here's a link you can read.

Also if you don't want to outdo the stock tranny stay with the stock twins. I would think that the tranny would be able to handle those okay.

if its' going to be a 600ish horsepower car the T2 tranny MIGHT hold up for a bit.

the numbers sillbeer is speaking of...Anything Bxxx or higher is safe there was a bunch of 20b's 0001-a? that were older and less durable. Not all are bad and there are many A series or older making power consistantly but why risk....

If you go single turbo a t72 to t76 will put you up around 600hp at 15-18psi w/ stock ports and great tuning (tuning is key as we all know). Personnally i went w/ a gt42 ,best buy in my opinion 950.oo plus shipping.

20b in an FD..mounts and subframewill cost ya, the rest is parts and piping.

do your homework on EMS' find a tuner that is local that works w/ your EMS, just a tip

OH and sell everything you dont NEED! this is going to cost you!
Im about 10k into my project w/o an IC,Rad, Fan(s),piping and tuning

haha thanks for all your advice i'll b learning for a fare bit longer i recon i want to go for well over 600hp but i dnt want to be unrealistic with cost ive just spent over $30k on one of my nissan pulsars and really enjoyed the car but i want to go back to rwd cars and the rx seems the perfect option as they get off the line really well

i can get the manifold and all pipework made for nothing so that keeps costs down if any of u guys that have done the conversion have a list of all your parts inc injectors to turbo's id be interested to see wat is involved in the whole big hp change because like i say im very new to these cars so any ideas do' and dnt's wud b apreciated

I too, saw that motor on japanese yahoo....all the description says is that its a 3 rotor, 20B engine, from an automatic 1990 cosmo (jcese) and the vin was 6436-114. the motor has 120,000Km on it. they do not know the condition of the motor, and they suggest rebuilding it. they also have the auto in another auction if you want it...
