Test drive day, I think I need input.
The safety issue is that in Japan they didn't officialy crash test cars (officialy being that it was a requirement to meet certain standards) until '96.
The stupid thing is, 1995 and 1996 Nissan Skylines use the exact same chassis etc, no changes yet one is legal to import, and the other isn't. Also, commercials are exempt. Now, there is one particular vehicle that is considered commerial in deisel form, and passenger in petrol form. Once again, one is legal and one isn't even with both as pre 96" models.

ah ok, thats like mini's here. people save all the vin plates/paperwork from all the 60's minis, go to england/europe slap them on a newer one and import the '99 as a '67. if you get creative with the rules you can still get whatever you want. you dont want to break rules, just bend them a bit.
