So has anyone made a kit for a direct T56 FD swap for purchase?

chip's motorsports is the only company I'm aware of that has a complete bolt-on kit available. By my estimation, his work is really high quality.

this is just an FYI... i haven't been closely following the thread and there may be lots of ways to do the swap other than my choice which is auto bellhousing etc...

anyway, the reason for the post is that i am doing a run of adapter plates... that'd be T56 to mazda auto BH. i do not/will not bother my machine shop for one BH so if anyone is interested in having one made in this batch which will be avail in 10 days PM me NOW.

$300 shipped to cont USA.

it may need to be slightly modded for a Magnum.

BTW, i love my T56 and am in the second year...

Hi Howard,

What else would be necessary to complete the swap? Would you be able to piece together a complete kit, which includes everything necessary to do the swap (less the trans itself)? I would definitely be interested in something like that as I don't want to start taking the car apart and then realize I need something else to complete the swap. I think a lot of other members would interested as well.

Thanks,

Chris

parts necessary to do the T56 swap w an auto bellhousing.

auto bellhousing
auto starter
auto rear iron
auto flex plate (needs to be machined to fit QuarterMaster flywheel button/simple deal)
ARP Toyota flywheel bolts
Quartermaster 8.5 inch "rally" twin disc clutch mine (2 rotor 600 rwhp, no drag racing) uses 2000 pounds clutch spring which is working perfectly to date. driveable too.
Quartermaster hydraulic clutch actuator and bleed line
rear transmission mount
rear subframe for diff (really slick) will give you the specifics later today as i have to run
a different (short) clutch master cyclinder
GTO shift mechanism
Lou's short shift stick
2 inch white Hurst shifter ball, you gotta have it.

i did a thread w pics and will post a link later.

i remember starting out w "this isn't cheap but..."

Which one is that? Does it solve the issues of the other kits being offered? Price?

I have had 2 x Rm4091 sent from quicktime in the last month, and both are wrong. The auto starter does not engage onto the flywheel as listed and reccommended. Ended cutting up the bell and modifying the starter platform to fix the engagement issue. Also needed to cut the bell edges where the dowells sit. Would not do this again, has been a nightmare. Quicktime need to get their R and D right before re releasing it.

I should have pics up shortly of the t56 trans kit, with all the parts necessary to bolt right on.

Blue Prints for all the custom parts needed for this set up will also be available for anyone to make on there own.. .. no more than 1 week or 2...

Thanks

Yes please! I need!

Will it work with T56 Magnum and manual 13B-REW?

If not, are there any other kits, preferably, or parts, that will do this?

Also would like minimal sized bell housing/etc., to avoid tranny tunnel mods as much as possible.

FYI, if anyone is wondering, his T56 kit will not work with the T56 Magnum...
Hello

After some measuring and working with the magnum trans.

My kit will not work with the magnum sorry..

Thank you
Chip U

Still searching for a proven manual plate 13B-REW to T56 Magnum solution.

I have put a support request in to QuickTime to ask if they are aware of the fitment problems with their RM-4091 bellhousing as mentioned above, and if they know how to solve it more easily.

I am curious to see who is running a Magnum transmission and how they've adapted it due to the protrusions on the face of the box.

Hope you keep us posted on how it turns out with shifter location and what you're doing with a clutch set up..

chipsmotorsports.com sell a custom flywheel for this setup that will take either a quartermaster or tilton 7.25 clutch. I'm going to use it along with a quartermaster clutch I had quartermaster make for me.

The shifter situation is still being worked on by another source at this point.

Looking good, please keep us updated.

Is that going to fit up to an auto 13B rear plate, rather than manual, like it seems all of the off the shelf solutions seem to be?
