Stock transmission with 20B?

Has everyone been running the stock 5-speed manual with their 20B FD's? How has the transmission been holding up to all of that extra power? One good thing about going LS series is that you get a T-56 which can handle serious power. If I where to go 20B I am curious to know how much attention or babying the stock transmission would need.

Drag launches are killers for the trannies with big power. Take it easy off the line and you shouldn't break anything.

I was fine until I started running more than 15psi when I went single turbo. 3rd gear is first to go..

If you are building, I would go with a T-56 or supra tranny and you don't have to worry about it. That way you can get the right clutch put in as apposed to buying a FD clutch and replacing it later when you change trannies. I had Liberty Transmission treat my internals for more strength. I broke 2 counter shafts but that was from shifting from 2nd to 5th (no flaming please). I talk to a guy that drag races a high hp 13b (600hp range) and he only gets a few track days per tranny. He has a source for JDM FD trannies though. If I had to do it over, I would go with a heavier duty tranny.

As soon as you guys go over 500lbs of torque you'll start breaking 3rd gear. JDM trannies are no stronger. As stated, hard launches are a killer on your output shaft. O.S. Geiken, PPG, and guru all make gear sets that are much stronger, but are dog cut so you will get a whine.
