The rising of a new 20B KING. Part II

@ Puerto Rico's International Speedway.

A month ago, I told you guys that Humberto Cruz Radical RX8 made its first 1/4 mile pass of 7.00 @ 199MPH... followed by 2 more 7.0 including a 203+MPH pass

This past weekend "Major League" does it again!....... only better: 6.91 @ 200MPH!

First of all i'll like to say good work to the guy's involved in the building and tuning of this monster three rotor rx8 but we all have to remember that abel is the Godfather of rotary without him i dont think that rotary performance would be where it is today so guy's please dont tell abel to look out i dont think that is a very polite thing to say, Us rotary fanatics should praise him for all his hard work that he has done for rotary, Rotary should not be fighting rotary down we already have an up hill battle as is so please guy's respect abel for what he has done for rotary thank's guy's ....

new 20b king

like i mentioned in another thread, flaco is a one hit wonder. hes been working on this 3 rotor combo for almost 2 years and the only things hes got to show is a few 6 sec. passes and a whole bunch of broken motors. you have no idea have many motors hes destroyed. the new major league rx-8 is not even 2 months old and he has multiple 6sec. 200+mph runs under his belts.
major league will be coming to etown for the nhra event in oct. i hope flaco shows up.

True, however this car is making FULL passes, ever single week, not to mention improving the times. Doesn't matter if you meet NHRA rules, if out of 100 passes, only 5 makes it after the 1/8 mile....

It does matter if you want to make the runs legit. Size, weight, specs of the motor, everything counts, otherwise hes in a class of his own.

If he meets these requirements in the NHRA rule book, then his runs will be legit.

Notice in the last rule, they only allow twin turbos at a certain size. If they limit the size of 2 turbos, then 3 turbos is illegal because I know hes using 3 turbos. If im wrong, then give us some pictures of his engine and the specs, just like this

I don't think anybody has pictures of the engine

It just seems that by saying that it is not NHRA legal, his time is not legit You and I know that the only *cough* excuse *cough* is the third turbo. Hell, if the more turbos the better, why doesn't flaco add a second turbo

Besides my point is still valid, let see Flaco do 3 consistent FULL passes, at that point being legal or not is not an issue, more like being able to race.

You got a point. You can't win if you can't finish.

Flaco will be at E-Town... and the team is looking forward to a new Rotary PRO-RWD on the NHRA circuit. Hopefully this new 8 can make NHRA tech and weight regulations and run... if indeed it's 3 turbos, then they can't run that combo unfortunately. But, I'm sure Major League will be ready.

About the one hit wonder deal... well Flaco has been out front since the early 90's... if you want to call that a one-hit wonder, then... what can I say.

What I really like is... that I see some top notch pros have worked on this new ride. You can't beat top pros and a nice budget. The chassis and body work is Don Ness, the motor was done by Alec Bell (KIWI RE) and tuned by Siguel... all tops in their field.

Abel is proud that his 8 was built and tuned entirely (motor, chasiss) by his shop, Flaco Racing. He has much respect for all of the above, and even talks with Don Ness regularly.

And I do have an idea how many motors Abel has destroyed!

Much success to Major League, and we'll see them at E-Town.

Rumors are running that they are willing to put $50 LARGE ones, on a test run against Flaco at the next event in Englistown this October. Time to put up, or shut the #@%&* up

So when Flaco had the sponsors, and the budget, nobody cared, Major League has the budget, adn all of the sudden is something worth mentioning

And the point is? Race what you got, if you can that is...

BTW - I don't think he was showing much respect to Siguel on the interview you did to him.

How can one put up or shut-up on a rumor ... also why would they run a car that *might not* be built to the same rule set. Abel understands there are other combos out there that can potentially make more power, but are not allowed on the NHRA circuit... maybe they can make this same offer for the NHRA event, if they line-up, and everyone is all-legal like... only fair way I see to do a race like this...

I'm not speaking for Abel or anything, just stating that this in my opinion would be a little more straight up and legit... and it would dispell all issues and doubts.

The rumors has been posted on some of the Puerto Rican forums, I am sure Abel keeps an eye on them.

Flaco likes to talk about being the fastest, he also points fingers at. Here is the chance, at a test and tune on Englishtown this October. I mean if he is confident to be cocky, he better be ready to back it up...

It's all about being the Fastest, nothing else!

I never said Abel was the Godfather of anything.... please don't quote me for that.

What do you mean, no one cared?!?!? it's all anyone ever talked about... "if I had a million bucks like Abel" if we had sponsors like Flaco", "if this.. and that..." so why is it a problem that I mention that ML is a very well funded vehicle effort... who cares, it doesn't take anything away from ML. I wasn't hate'n on ML... just saying it's a well funded and budgeted vehicle effort... relax!

The funny thing on all the money and sponsorship Abel had... was that most of this $$ went to running the different Sport Compact circuits and all of the support infrastructure (rig, team, travel, etc...) it cost a lot of money to run "whole" seasons attending most of the races. This chewed a major part of all the money his sponsors gave.

Flaco is... at every NHRA event... we hope to see more PRO-RWD Rotarys on the circuit, not just at one race or two. Abel is friends with PEPE LOCO and is always encouraging him to make more races, if possible. We know that to push Rotary Power higher in the drag game, we need more guys out there running and the team welcomes ML.

All he said that one of his highest moments in drag racing was beating the Siguel 3-rotor, with his 2-rotor... Abel was a big underdog in that race, and as now, many said he was going to get taken out.... I don't see desrepect in what he said..

Flaco talks about being the fastest because he is.... and who is he pointing fingers at, and for what? I'm sure he will do his best to run his fastest at the NHRA event. If ML is ready to run the NHRA circuit, am sure they'll also be there ready to back-up their runs and run their best.

Who says it all about being the fastest and "nothing else"... what do you get for being the fastest and nothing else? I guess if it were street racing, then this might go, but Abel is running a pro-circuit and as such has a car built to the rules of the sanctioning body. If some one paid him bucks to build an outlaw car, I'm sure he'd do it.... but I'll tell you there is no one knocking on his door with $$ asking him to do so at the moment.

You were out there giving it your best and representing rotary in the toughest game in town (NHRA USA)... I don't see any other full-time rotary PRO-RWD racers doing the circuit. So to win, you must first SHOW... and give it a run.

Don't be fooled... the piston boyz are at 6.50 in the 215+ range, and while we are here discussing the virtues of two top rotary racers... they are getting faster. The goal for the Flaco team, is to show that Rotary power can run with the fastest PRO-RWD cars in the world. At the moment there isn't a rotary powered RWD (NHRA legal or not) car that can touch these boys, including Abel.

I think every one respects Flaco
they even want for him to come down to PR and they would pay his expenses

Flaco just sets the mark that everyone wants to beat
we can't compete with the 6 Cyls
so were forced to compete against our selfs

that just the way it is
its all about bragging rights
not winning a NHRA championship

but you see.... for Abel and Flaco Racing IT IS all about proving that they can beat the 6 Cyls piston boys and win a NHRA Championship. Abel wants to run 6:40s to win a NHRA Championship, not just bragging rights. He wants to prove to all the piston community that a small team Rotary team (compared to the several piston factory efforts) CAN still run with them in the fastest series in the world (NHRA), and be on top, as before. So he chases these guys and breaks lots of things in the processs trying to do so... I think that this should be the goal of all Rotary racers... just like Kilo is doing in all motor. We would hope that entire Rotary drag community would feel the same and *support* all rotary efforts out there.
