Thinking of going 20b. Not sure I could do it myself so maybe go with RX7 store install. I have a couple questions. What kind of modifications would one have to do to make an A or early series engine comparable to D series? Also, has anyone had experience with Hinson's 20b subframe? There are several subframes out there and a lot of discussion on here about which is best. I would like the motor to sit as low and far back as possible without major tunnel work or steering problems. Thanks

 

The RX7 STore did my 20b. I would recommend them. You should call Jason and ask him these questions. I used the rotary specialties sub frame and my engine sits forward quite a bit....lots of room to move it back. Thay have the experience having done mine that they should have some good ideas on what subframe to use and the associated pros and cons. PM me if I can help. Yeah I chatted with you awhile back. The silver one right? How's it running? Any issues? I noticed that your engine sits pretty far forward. It seems to me if there's room why didn't RX7store move it back?

 

Yes, I remember chatting with you. I think it runs great. The meth injection needs a little work but other than that it is fine. The position of the engine is a function of the subframe so it would have been a pretty major deal to move. Pick the right subframe!
A 20b swap is a real financial committment but I haven't regretted it since I've had it back.
