Exclamation Pump gas on 20b

Okay i got a questions for you 3rotor 20b owners, i wanted to ask how much boost can i run on the 20b before i have to change over to race gas? I know that my 13b-rew can run up to 14psi before the change over of fuel.

It would be simular. I was running 15 psi on 93 octane, which was at the limit for the stock tranny.

15psi on a GT-40 or larger turbo will yield 550+ rwhp all day long on 93 octane. That good enough for you?

With a water/meth kit, we don't ever have to run 'race gas'.
I think most of us are jumping on that bandwagon at least...I did.

The only thing running race gas with twins will do is reduce the change of detonation. The twins are too small to make any serious power and would be way out of their efficiency range. Besides, race gas and 20b go together when your talking 600+whp range.

Hi genocide #7 and everyone else - I'm a newbie to this site...

Over here in Aus generally people only run 'race gas' for exactly that, racing. Reason being that unless you are chasing every last possible hp, the benefits don't out weigh the cost.

As for there being a 'change over point', there are too many possible variables - most importantly A/F ratios and timing, intercooler efficiency, type of turbo/s and whether you are running other detonation supressors such as water injection.

If your tune is a safe one (factory computer?) then some of these boys who know about where the factory turbos start to head badly out of their efficiency range may be able to let you know a ball park figure to stay under.

Grabbing some race fuel from here to get you a couple more psi before detonation becomes an issue is likely to net you a sufficiently small gain that you may consider saving the money that you could spend on the gas and spend it on a turbo...

Cheers,
Sam.
