Lightbulb Newbish Question: Best Sources for a 20B

Noob Alert:

I've read through the FAQ's, searched through the forums, google, IG, ebay and didn't see any recent discussions regarding sourcing a 20B. I realize the supply is quite low and will continue to be more difficult to find one but realistically should I be looking else where?

Majority of the 20B builds threads seem to leverage personal networks or local shops to find one. Granted I've only been collecting information and researching, but am I better off going to the big name shops to procure one? Is piecing one together a better use of efforts or finding a complete engine a better base, even though it will need to be rebuilt anyway?

(Clarifying point - I am still feel incredibly fresh to the rotary world and have no intentions in building one myself. I will defer to experts to do this. Please do not believe I plan to do this on my own, or attempt to do this on an unrealistic budget [<$10K]. I have a bigger focus on proper due diligence and execution)

Side notes - Going in a bagged 74 Repu and custom fabrication is highly expected.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Best bet all round would be a complete second hand engine, they come up for sale often enough.
Theres one on ebay at the moment for $6,500 USD.

Thanks for the response guys - I've been watching the for sale forum and ebay on a regular basis. The built version here seems to be a great deal and was one of my primary options when it was for sale in the last few months. But with any engine built or not, I'd like to have it rebuilt for piece of mind before its in the truck. With that considered am I better off buying the complete second hand motor off ebay?

The positive of buying a complete motor is many of the small parts, sensors, hardware, etc. Would it be remiss to go pre-built route? I'd certainly save some money for the "go-fast" bits but will be at risk for budget creep for missing odds and ends.

Thanks again - I'm sure this has been a regular personal conflict for those looking to do a 20B swap. It would be incredibly beneficial to get everyones thoughts on paper for future reference.
