New project! 20B... FC or FD?

I have decided that my next project is going to be a 20B. What I havent decided on is what rx7 to put it in. I have a 400+hp, 1/2 bp, daily driver monster FC now. I do plan on getting a FD so that is where i'm at. Should I put it in the FD or FC? i heard it would be cheaper to put it in the FC. What do you think?

So I was able to expierence a 20B first hand. It was built at www.RotorsportsRacing.com by Bryan and his team.

I have never been so thrilled as the day I heard it start up and rev. It sounds like none other, revs like a motorcycle, and has gobbs of power.

I'm not good with words as far as describing that thing, but all I can say is wow. There were many trick parts that were installed on the car which Rotorsports sells.

I think they left for Indy today to show the car..

Hmm...If I were you I'd put it in the FD....i mean you have a 400+ HP FC....so that should be fun as it is....so let the 20B go in the FD...Thats what i'd do anyways...

Damn it Neal! Stop copying me! I'm not selling you my motor, either!

By the way, I don't have your phone number any more. Get in touch with me sometime. I'd love to see your car. Go in the lounge and take a look at mine. It's in THIS thread...

What do you care if it cheaper. You've got an FC thats definitely worth 8k+ (not that you'd sell it) and you're getting an FD, not cheap, AND you can afford thetime and money to buy a 20b and install it into either. You make me sick. Just kidding, cool though but it seems to me that money is not your main concern, just cool factor.

BTW... your factor is 9.9, just because the only 1.0 was felix wankel

Hey TwEaK, send me more info to nadderley74@hotmail.com

I'm in a toss up between 3 rotor FD and a Dodge viper now.

Viper seems more practical, and it has the bling factor...lol

that is a no brainer. Get the FC drop the 20B in and make it your drag monster . Than get a FD and keep it close to stock and it will be your DD

Neil- Did you like the ride? we can put it in whatever you desire. While I discourage relegating a RX7 to single purpose Drag racing- we can be twisted by the arm. Currently we are building up a tubeframe FD to accomodate our modified 3-rotor engine for roadrace use. Older RX series chassis really aren't up to handling the HP- besides they are Butt ugly !

Get another 2nd gen and drop the 3 rotor in it. It's an easier swap amont all of the RXs.

Fc

I'd buy another FC and drop a 3 rotor in it. If you’re worried the chassis will not holding up strip it down to the bare bones and tig weld every joint solid inside and out that’d sure be an upgrade to the few spot welds every 3 inches. FD's are nice but there a little too girly for my liking and vipers unusually have large targas for large swollen heads. Go with the FC's there are classic and make awesome super sleepers.

I started with an FC TII and now it is real close to being a 20b FC.
https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...6&page=1&pp=15

I found a red FD with no engine (it had one, but it may as well have had no engine) and have a FD 20b custom subframe and a 20b waiting for the FC to be finished. A jspec REW 13b is going in it now; at least until the FC is done.

I also snagged a black FD with 44k miles on it. I have an LS1 (all aluminum block and heads) and six speed sitting, waiting to go into the black FD. There is a two month wait for LS1 sub frames, so this project won't be finished this summer.
