Mazda 616 3rotor

This is my little creation after a few months of planning and this is the result.A monster with the coolest 3rotor engine running 20psi boost and used as a daily driver for over a year on 91 octane. There is a web video of my car running at racing beat back streets with my freind at www.lightningrotors.co.nz

Welcome.

That's wicked. Good show.

A 1200 was my first car. Oh, the memories.

Cheers

Thumbs up

I just watched the video and want to upgrade my response to What are you nuts?

How stable is it at speed? Those things are tiny.

Your laugh was great. I can only imagine the giddy feeling.

That piping is beautiful by the way.

616 question

Well it is not bad at high speeds ,it is pretty stable but in the video ,i had to stop getting on the throttle to hard on the first pass because you can actually hear the tires just blowing away 1,2,3,4,on the other passes i had to roll on the throttle to get traction, but it is cool to drive and i rather drive this car thank my 3rd gen.

Ah, I thought that's what that was, but I wasn't sure since the outside clip didn't show any tire spinning.

Sleeper, yes the best I've ever seen.

G'day mate.

I remember you at the Sevenstock-7 car show in L.A. Unsure if you recall the AUssie guys commenting on your RX-616 though

Did you know your car got a feature in the recent RX-7 magazine from Japan. You may recall the Japanese guys taking pics of it during the show. They even got some "driving away" pics too. Now your RX-616 is famous in Japan

Simply AWESOME!!!

It must be a handful to try and drive that thing with so much power!

Isnt that car about the size of a Datsun 510?

How about cooling problems?

What tranny are you running?

Fantastic job, and you say its more fun than your FD!!!!

Well I must say, It is the 1st. time that I'm really impressed with a "REAL" project that some one has had the initiative to GO THEIR OWN WAY in doing some thing as eunique as this.
An Rx2 (REALY) w/ a 20b. ........ way to go man! Admire you're style.\

Wild style

Well i don,t have any problems overheating, i used an aluminum radiator from spearco ,and it currently runs at a normal temp of 175 to 185 on hot days and full throttle runs.Sometime i get readings of 150 165 on cool days but it has no problems whatsoever.I am using a 3rd gen tranny from a JDM rx7 that i bought with low miles. But it is a little better than any other mazda trans outthere i mean shifting a little better.

I remember that lil badass car from SS7, you parked right behind me waiting to get in on the sidestreet. My jaw damn-near dropped when I saw that engine in there. Absolutely insane and awesome!

Blows you away by American standards hey................

You should see down under where 20B powered "Old school" RXs are quiet common.

What sized turbo are you running with it? Any dyno numbers? I have a RX2 project car right now that I'd love to turn into a swap like that. How did you go about mounting it? I figured you could use a RX2 cross member and mount it using a 12A front cover.
