maximum power for street fd

what do you guys consider to be the limit of power for a street car? I realize everyone has different opinions of what that should be so lets hear them.

so a 1000hp fd would be enjoyable. isnt there a point where you say to hell with it. if money was no object granted there would be a lot of down time with a 1000hp street fd

anything over 450whp on street tires is pointless with out a drag radial tire. i run around town on wastegate boost and my 285's street tires spin in 1st 2nd and 3rd gear :/.

I'll second that. The 13B in my FC would spin 1, 2 and 3 at ~460RWHP with a nice set of Bridgestones. I'm sure some'll say a bit more, but really there's not much "need"...

Having said that, if I get around to building my 3 rotor I'll probably want more "because I can" <- which is kind of a dumb reason but I'll do it anyway.

Have you guys considered suspension, My friend(delslow) made 531 on his fc, had 225 kuhmo tires(just basic tires) and he didn't even hardly spin in 1st, let alone in 2nd.

It is not just about HP, it is more about torque, rpm and how fast torque is rising. Fast response in low rpm will loosen your tires easier then more power in higher rpm if boost comes on a little slower.

As for tires, does anyone with 500hp+ run on tires that are not R-compound?

anything over 500/550whp is just plain stupid on the street , (in an FD) its rediculous , never mind the ***** to drive it ...
It just starts to become scary ,not to mention the amount of **** youre going to start breaking (diff/box etc)
A lot of people talk but i couldnt imagine a street driven 1000hp FD , it CAN be done , but seriously...why? ...90% chance you`d be dead within 4 hours of driving time .........should be a very interesting 4 hour period though

in my fc I think 450-500 whp with 20b torque was the best. I don't have any problems now with 600+ whp, but I just dont really enjoy driving it as much. with 500 it sort of hooked and was fast but not crazy, now its sorta hard to hold onto, and you dont feel much acceleration until the tires are warmed up because as soon as it boosts it breaks loose.

Maybe you could get away with a little more power in an FD, but not much.
