looking for someone who did it himself and ready to help someone

hey guys, wondered if there was anyone here that did the swap themself that would be ready to help a fellow rotorhead via MSN, we could discuss when i have questions.

I don't want to post every single question i have here since you will be bored of answering but if anyone wants to make an internet friend

seriously, i woudl appreciate it, if the project goes through, there might be money involved (nothing to get rich though)

thanks

well this is the problem,i don't know yet, the thing is that i just sold my car and i will have around 25 k to spend for the project.

i was thinking of buying a FC and make a drag racing car so that when i'll be ready to put it in an FD, all the wiring will already be done but i will need to buy a trailer and a truck so...

the other option is an FD, i would try to let the engine as stock as possible to minimize the cost (like leaving the twin turbos) and if i have money left, i would do the proper upgrades.

I know that with an FD i can buy almost all the parts i need like the subframe, the spindle, etc.

With the FC, i don't know, but i heard it was easier than in an FD. Can i keep the stock tranny with the FC? Does it have to be TII?

Also, can you keep the stock tranny of the FD and if so, with the modified subframe, is there any change to do in the PPF and the driving shaft or does the tranny stays at the same place?

these are just the first questions i have.

I know this is one hell of a big challenge, that is why i want to ask every question before i start to buy any part for it.

thanks guys

Honestly, you need to do some research man. There is tons of info on this forum. I did all of the work myself... of course I asked some questions... but I didn't ask anyone to design my car.

when you view the 20B section, change the date at the bottom of the page to "from the beginning". You will see a LOT of threads you probably missed.
