liquid to air intercooler

i have been searching around and found some cool *** PWR liquid to air intercoolers that i "think" would save me some space. instead of having a huge air to air FMIC taking up almost all my front space i would only have 2 short pipes and a water injected barrel added to the gap in between the radiator and engine, therefore leaving room in front of the radiator were the air to air FMIC would normally sit. therefore i would be left with options such as either moving the radiator farther foward or leaving the radiator in place and mounting 2 oil coolers were the FMIC would go..........now i am only brainstorming at this point and am probably WAYYYYY off, so if someone can give me some input on this as far as me being somewhat on the rite track or just being completely ignorant and a daydreamer it would be greatly appreciated...........again this is just a thought up concept.

I'm not sure how much room you would have in your 1st gen for this, but on my 2nd gen TII i am using an air/ water IC and also a radiator that I bought on ebay that came from an Arctic Cat ATV. It has it's own 12v cooling fan and shroud, radiator cap and overflow tube as well as 3/4" inlet and outlet nipples for hose connections. I am also using a stock F150 Lightning electric intercooler pump (ebay). On my car there is no need to relocate the radiator or do any body mods to fit the pump and atv rad. It fits nicely between the hood latch bracket and driver's side headlamp assy. I don't need a separate reservoir, as the ATV radiator accomplishes that. If I should want to add a reservoir, it would be for adding ice to bring the IAT down for track use.

in a first gen you should have no issues fitting the barrel in front of the motor with the radiator moved slighly forward

I doubt you can do it in an FC with a radiator in the stock position.
There's like 6" of space on a GOOD day...

this is all good news no matter what body i go with....in my FC rite now both the FMIC and the radiator are moved foward (you couldnt pay anyone to legalize this car for the streets) if i were to eliminate the FMIC that would give me the extra space to move the radiator just far enough fowrard to make room and still keep it "LEGAL" looking. Then if i were to go with my first gen, by elimintaing the FMIC i could even put the radiator were the FMIC would go and clear up a decent space for the barrel.................correct me if im wrong
