hybrid 20b???
hybrid 20b???
I've lurked around these forums for a while and this is my first post so Just wanna say whats up to eveyone and thanks to all of the people that are informative and make this a great place to research. But to get on topic now, i've seen a few threads on this site about people building 4 rotors and getting custom e-shafts made, but in that same view could you do this with a three rotor setup by using 13b housings with a 20b e-shaft and counterweight. Sorry if this is a stupid q but I've searched for awhile now and didn't come across anything in regards to my specific question. Also I would be running a custom surge tank so the mating of the cosmo manifold doesn't matter. Thanks for your time.

Hey, if the guy wants to pay $30K for a custom engine rather than $4K for a used 20B-REW, then that's up to him. The question was whether it could be done, not whether it was economically efficient.
This question was more out of curiousity then anything. Just considering what my options are. Thanks for the suggestions though guys. And no i'm not rich or anything like that I was just planning on building a setup piece by piece because I hate dropping large amount of money on things all at once because you never know what the future brings. Hence, im a broke ***, haha.

the custom 3 rotor set up could be more financialy benificial in the long run.
If you buy a 20b that is together. You wont know what is serviceable until you pull it apart, then you have to replace parts. If by chane the large centre plate is stuffed, your screwed. At least if you go with the custom set up, the centre plates are always going to be available, dearer, but available. If you are going to completely rebuild the 20b with all new parts, say a full on race motor, you may as wellgo witht he cistom unit as the added cost for the shaft and stationary gear mods will be stuff all when the whole cost is considered. And it will be ligher, shorter and better balanced

the guy just said he was broke. he is dreaming if he even think he is going to install a 20b in any car non the less a "race car".
like aviator said before, buy stuff that can be used for both the 13b and 20b first, then source a used motor to tear apart and build as you have money.
