How does everyone afford their 20b projects?

Im lookin into this project(getting rid of the v8).ive talked with pettit and they have drop in engines(which are used but run reliable without a rebuild)for 4800 dollars.the guy i spoke with said 10 straight motors without skipping a beat so far.even offered a name and number of a guy that bought one so i could speak with him.so far this is the best deal ive seen.i know some people sell 20b's for 3500 yet they dont steelcase ship them and need a rebuild for a so many few thousand dollars.

So the engine is out of the way. now we have the ems.which is another 1500 to 3000 dollars.

i will be saving myself the install electrical and mechanical problems.so thats another 3000 dollars.

i will have the computer tuned by dave at rotorsports racing though.great guy.

i will be modifying my v8 subframe for the 20b. i will also be using a tubular a-arm instead of the ppf.i will modify the alternator position and manifold height so i can sit the engine up higher without having to cut the hood or lower the steering rack.i might also go with a semi dry sump up front if i need to for clearancing issues.

as far a the transmission goes.i might go with the stock one.but i would hate to use a clutch again.but then again clutchless shifters and all the sequential stuff is about 5-15k dollars.but it is an option still.

the engine will be pushed against the firewall though like axia's car.

thanx on telling me on how u afford it.

Thats a good question, I'm working on my 83 FB with a 13B-RE and it is draining the bank account. I think I'm close to $7200 and I still have about $300-$500 to go before it can hit the streets. I can only imagine how much it would take to start with a FD (my FB cost me 600 bucks) and install a 20B (my 13B-RE was 1500).
What do you guys do for a living to afford these projects? Or do you all still live at home with Mom?

I don't pay taxes so does that make mine less? The way I look at it, I spend tax free dollars which is about 50% less than you......I think mine might be the cheapest using that rate!!!!!

I think he's one of the only serious ones in this thread, if not the only one.

Oh, I acted like a politician to get mine. You know, lots of empty promises that I won't keep after the election.
