Do you realize that the RX-8 wasn't even in production when this thread was started?

Now we know what? You do realize that they will NOT, in fact, "go str8 in" right?

If u want a lot of torque from a 20b u need to go turbo. The speedsource RX-8's for example run in the Rolex Grand-Am series run 20b NA engines. I think they run modified rx-8 rotors, although they wont say....u can bet they are 10.0:1, the weight is just a secret. They are PP motors with ITB's, fixed runner lenght(unlike the 13g) and they run a Motec. Officially they make 425hp @ 8500 rpm and 285 ft/lbs torque at 7700rpm. U will be hard pressed to get more torque than they do, unless u want to by a 13g, which u can still find on racecars.com but they are $40-50k. HP is another story, if u are willing to sacrafice the longevity of your engine and build it properly, a 20b can run up to 11,000 rpms or so, and then u r talking 450-475hp. There is a guy in australia who has a 20b in a FC Race car and he runs it up to 10,400. Speedsource runs theirs up to 9500 and makes over 450hp for sure, depends on the track.

While we applaud you for searching, you brought back a 3 years dead thread buddy. This subject has been beaten harder and longer than seabiscuit on his reckoning day.

Valiant effort though.

Necromancy is the new cool.

Speaking of people that don't post much here any more - here's me!

That 20B FC 87GTR and RETed were talking about......it was found here on Okinawa. Long story short, it's no longer in existence, but I got a lot of part off of it.
