Fs - Fmic
I know this isn't the for sale section but this FMIC was used on my 20B project and it is most likely a better fit with the size of turbo's that everyone here is using vs. the 2 rotor crowd. If the admin's have an issue with this, please remove it at your convienence.
One FMIC for sale - almost brand new and only used for one summer for 900 miles on my 20B project. Comes with everything seen in the photos including mounting bolts. Dimensions of the core are 24"x14"x3.5". The aluminum piping is 3" OD thick-wall to the end tanks. The V-pipe to the end tank is to ensure proper flow of air through the core vs. just one inlet/outlet. Air will flow across the core substantially better this way.
Using a T-76 turbo we were seeing inlet temperatures (measured at the TB) of about 26 deg C on the dyno at an ambient of 18 C at 6 psi. On hotter days (26-30 deg C), intake temp was about 35-40 deg C, same amount of boost. Pressure drop was not measured across the cooler but boost response was crisp and responsive so if there was a drop, it was certainly not noticeable at all.
This cooler was mounted on a FC with a C-West front bumper. This is the reason for the octagon bar across the front so there was at least some sort of protection for the intercooler and front end in the event of a low speed crash. Anything high speed and none of this matters at that point anyway. I can't say exactly how it will mount up to an FD but it will fit behind another C-West bumper given the dimensions are the same - and the reason it's for sale in the FD section as there are only about 5 or 6 of us that have a FC with a C-West bumper.
This is not a cheap-O core. Do not waste my time by comparing this to Ebay garbage and you can get it for X-amount cheaper. This is a purpose-built custom intercooler and is on the high end of quality.
Have about $1600 invested with welding labor, materials, mounting, etc. Just trying to get back the original price paid for the core alone. Asking price is $1250. Will ship anywhere in the continental US with insurance and a tracking number which IS included in the price.

You can't get one. Chuck at Rotary Extreme only made less than a dozen and I'm only aware of 2 that were actually installed. This project was done back in Jan '04. Search for Chuck and rotary extreme for the old group buy thread and there may be a potential to get one from an old buyer if they haven't installed/trashed it at this point.
BTW - I love it. Makes the car look totally bad *** and merges the best of both worlds; FC and FD.
