Ueafa - its good to set high goals but just make sure there attainable.

Anything is possible with enough money.

Post the pics and dyno sheets when its done to shut all these asswips up :p

Sounds a little like my project, except mine exists and my wheels ere big in the wide sense, not tall. When you friend is done, he can finnish mine up "for a little more than what I paid for the engine." But then again, my engine runs well into five figures.
It's nice to dream

Not sure what to do with this topic...maybe move it to the 20B forum and let those mods chew on it?

What do you mean "those" mods? I am the only 20B forum mod. Oh, I get it, lol.

That's about right for a decent used engine. The nasty used 20B-REW's that have been oxidizing on the loading dock for several years sell for about $2K, while the better used engines sell for about $4K.

and then has a guy to install it for a little more.
Yeah, mounts are a few hundred dollars, a random old flywheel that isn't properly balanced to the engine is maybe another $50, and then there is just some hood cutting and sway bar removal and the engine is then officially installed in the car. Getting it to run is another story.

Thinks that he'll be pushing around 1000hp.
It sounds more like he will be pushing around 2900 lbs of ruined 10AE down to the local junk yard.

Running 20's on the back and 19's up front.
That would look pretty good if they are the gold nugget wheels with white walls and curb feelers. Chrome spinning wheels would also look great.

By the way, this is going into a fully loaded 10th. Ann. that is soon to be gutted.
That's brilliant. Take a really nice car with a great resale value and totally destroy it. Why not sell it for $3K, and then buy a TII with a blown engine for $500? I can think of a lot of good ways to use the remaining $2,500.

BTW, all 10AE's are pretty much "fully loaded".

I'm going to need to push 2 big bottles and a bunch of shots after reading this thread.

So let me know what you have to say about this, because he wont listen to a damn word that I say
Let him do it, and he will hopefully learn from his mistake. Even if he doesn't learn, it will take away a lot of money from his arsenal of future ideas, which just may be the safest thing for society. If you tell him it's a dumb idea, he will just get mad at you for "being a hater". Trust me, I get this all the time.

No need to point that out.

dude i guess 1000 hp with on real big turbo plus nos is possible , but do you have an idea of how much money hes going to spend to properly prepare this engine ,just the sick amount of tuning ,not to mention all the risks of blowing that poor 20b to shreds before accomplishing this ,possible .....maybe .......whats more likely ....NO

besides after its all said and done , hes still gunna need to shift mad quik yo......hahahahah

Im not the one setting the goals for this, I am trying to save my friend some money and not look like a fool in the long run. But maybe I will let him go through with it, and learn from his rediculous mistake. All I know, is that he doesn't know how much money is going to be involved, nor maintanence to make sure everything is in proper order. Who knows, he might be able to finish it, but hopefully he'll have enough money left over to drive it somewhere.
