Friends 3 rotor swap....?

One of my friends says that he can grab a 3 rotor, with full parts for $3k and then has a guy to install it for a little more. Thinks that he'll be pushing around 1000hp. Running 20's on the back and 19's up front. By the way, this is going into a fully loaded 10th. Ann. that is soon to be gutted. Also pushing 2 bottles (don't know how big of shots). So let me know what you have to say about this, because he wont listen to a damn word that I say, and he doesn't know that much about the Wankel.

Don't have pics of it yet, because its in the "process" he doesn't really understand how much work is truely going to be needed to complete this project. Because theere are a lot of factors that haven't been put into consideration.

nobody is going to put it in for a little more. They might do a swap for 10g's not counting parts. 1000hp is bs and nitrous is very dangerous on a turbo rotary. Someone is trying to be vin diesel a little to hard.

OMFG.

Where is he.
I'll drive over there and kick his *** for saying that!

OK if he can get a 20b for 3k then I'll buy it off him and then make an extra 1k from the sale.

TO get a 20b to 1,000 hp it better be bridge ported and have a massive turbo on it.

Nitrous? Not even going to go into that BS. And 2 Bottles? Are they big and does he need them by tonight? You would state the jets or atleast the power increase (50 shot etc..).

As for 20's and 19's I doubt they will fit. I saw a Vert on the forum around a year ago which had 20's maybe and it sat like 2 feet from the ground. Very ugly.

And if it's a 10th ann then of course it's fully loaded.

As for what he'll need for the swap. Check yesterdays 2 threads on 20b swaps.

BLeh..
The kid is an idiot or crack head. A crack head kid I know thinks his half broken stock 1st gen can kill vettes and pull 7's.

Don't know what turbos he is gonna use, now injectors or anything else, because he hasn't brought it up. Its a 10th Ann. because he got it for $450 from one of our friends who lost control on the freeway and slammed into the guardrail ******* up the driverside and other parts. No motor in it either. He is going to be gutting it completely except for 2 racingseats. No AC, powersteering, etc. This is in AZ too.............

HAHAHAHAHA yeah, I have been trying to say this to him. He says that his mechanic has done this before or something like that............BS! Not to many have around here. I told him the same about the rims. If he wants too, then get 18's on back and 17's up front or something. But then again, why waste more money of tires? He wants it to be fast, but yet he's throwing on heavy rims. I doubt he has taken everything into consideration either, as you can tell. He is the type that has to be right. We should meet up sometime and have a chat..............Im in Scottsdale (Shea and Scottsdale) as you can tell from my avatar.

OK,
Actually to prove his BS here is a list of what you ask him.

Who is he getting the engine from?
Long block/shortblock?
Compression numbers?
Running condition or needs rebuild?
Who's rebuilding?(No one in Phx rebuilds them)

What Engine management is he going to use?(no stock mazda system will run a 20b)

Injector size
Where's he getting the engine mounts?
What Intercooler is he getting?
What turbo?
If stock ask what type they are(//they are twin sequential)

In short he lies or he doesn't realize how much it actually costs to install one in an FC until he has a 20b engine sitting ina the garage next to a dead rx7. At that point I'll buy the engine from him for $500.

I don't believe it, not at all, I am the one who knows what the **** I am talking about, and he and his friend think (2nd friend has a bit more thought in this) that it will be pulled off, but they don't know everything that is going to be put into it, along with the time and money.

This has all the signs of a dead end money pit.

When he runs out of cash, it will make a good parts cannibal for someone.

Just the ignition packs to fire that much fuel cost more than most of our cars are worth..

Its just funny, because he can't take others opinions on something, and thinks that because he talks to people and has friends looks up things for him, that he knows more. But in the end, he still doesn't. I have been roaming these sites for atleast 2 years, and still don't know as much as I think I should, and he wont listen. So I come on here to let you all have a laugh, and give some feedback, so I can be a friend to him and try and help him save some money. (By the way, license plate ideas for him are A B K (anybodykiller))............

I kinda came off rude there. bleh. Not meant towards you Ueafa but your friend.

You should hang out with us when we go to the Pavillions. The RCCAZ usually meets up once a month there during the car show.

We are in the Home dept row 1 or 2 away from the bike row.

Hopefully in 2-3 weeks I can drive my GTU Tii conversion there.

When are you guys meeting up next. I will most definately swing up there and hang out. I know some of the members in the club, but from about 1-2 years ago. One of my friends is in it, but don't know about it now (Jon Zanol (think thats the last name)) had a black GTU, and 10th. Ann. (which he sold obviously). But definately let me know and we'll meet up. I'll see if I can get him to roll over too.

Not sure when we're meeting up again.

There aren't a lot of 2nd gens right now/or atleast they don't show up.

Node and Tom93r1 would probably know when the next meeting is.

I just get the mailing list and show up if they schedule one.

If you PM your email I'll let you know next time we get together.

That's a nice dream, but it probably will never happen.

1000hp out of a 20B is no joke, people have 700hp 13b's.

I can also get a 20B rebuilt and ported shortblock for $3500 not including the cost of shipping. Or buy the front clip for 2500, then get that rebuilt and ported.

Hell, there was a thread a while back with a shop that would put a 1000hp Tri setup in an FD for $30K, anyone remember that?

If you know a machinist, can rebuild and do your own porting, and can get wholesale parts, you might beable to do it for $16K. People have built 500hp cars for under 10k.

I guess you'll find out next year if he was BSin or not Might even blow on the dyno

At the very high end EG: Pro street drag cars, the 20B's long two piece eccentric shaft starts to deflect and the rotors start to wobble.
That limits it's max power.
The big rotary boys run 13B's.
