This is the firt time we've been able to run our new turbo and engine combo (no testing at all). We are happy with the new found power, reflected in the improved Mile-an-Hour. There is a very conservative tune on the car, and boost was kept moderate.

Hope to have better news tomorrow. Wish us luck... It's hard work to keep up with those piston boys!

Thanks guys!!! the team knew that the performance was/is there, but we've been struggling mightly with budget this year. This issue has delayed almost all of the team's R&D, and we even had to miss a few rounds, due to funds. As I write, the team is working hard to get some $$ to make the New Jersey NHRA round, as we want to give a good show to all the Rotary faithful!!! Please keep up the support, and we hope to see you all at a race!

Understood... Team Flaco has been to most of the NJ rounds for several years, and know that it's one of the best, but without the $$ it's hard to travel cross country! And we are honestly working hard to get some funding to make the trip, Abel and the team really want to be there.

i think he had alot of tire shake during qualifing...his quickest was a 8.3's @198...i dont remember him losing a motor, but i was in his pit area while they was warming up the car and at 6feet away from the turbo when that 2step kicks in its freeking amazing....the exhaust pulses was so strong, i think it probably hits u harder than the 2jz cars ...does anyone have any info on his ignition/ 2step setup??

The Flaco Racing RX-8 uses the following:
2 - MSD DIS 4 ignitions
6 - MSD H.O. coils (1 per plug)
all run with a custom MSD interface box to the MOTEC M880
We find it enough!

Still a very interesting thread... Look at where rotary performance was back in '05, it's pretty amazing even by today's standards
