There is a company installing custom 4 rotor engines in Fd's thats solving the hood clearence by pushing the engine 7 inches further back into the chassis, and bringing the engine down lower.

There isn't any cutting of the firewall on the FD 4 rotor... if you check out the website. http://www.autotechmotorsports.com/project-23A.htm
Edit: It also uses 12a Based parts and they claim the shifter is in the stock location. The intake manifold shows how the firewall isnt modified; the runners for the rear 2 rotors go foward.

all you need for the FC is mount adapters, and to modify the position of the sway bar, or a custom sway bar. I don't think hood clearance is even an issue.
i had to cut some of the bracing from under my hood, but the actual top skin is ok for a fc.

Did you cut the bracing for manifold clearence or to clear piping for the stock turbos I saw one single turbo last year that fit with no cutting. Of course there are other factors, not the least of which is the mount adapters in question my 13b-re install required trimming of the excess casting on the front cover to clear the steering rack.

For my car, I moved the motor back 6.5-7" and down about 1". There is no way in hell you could do it without modifying a lot of sheet metal, unless you are willing to have the oil pan about 2" off the ground and be the lowest point of the car. Ask the ground zero oil pan guys how much fun that is.
Ignoring the changes I had to make to accommodate the stock manifold, I had modify the firewall/tunnel to make room for the following items:
-the rear iron hits the tunnel where the filter mount would normally bolt down.
-the starter motor hits the tunnel.
-the back of the gearbox hits the tunnel
-there is virtually no room for a downpipe without cutting the firewall back.
Logan I really like your kit. Where was all this innovation a few years ago when I started my project? :p

Intake manifolds are not cheep guys we just cant produce parts at some of the prices asked for. I am sure GtoRx7 will agree with me here that we can’t produce the type of machine work needed for cheep.
13b manis fully custom to each application I charge anywhere from 1,200 and 1,700 without a TB. For a 20b then avg price would simply be 50% more. Now shorter runners and ITB could be cheaper for fact of not fabin a plenum. Then the thing of air boxes raise the price back up.

I just finished another option that is available to any customer. The idea was inspired to me by Cmonakar (his pan pictured), and uses a Rx-8 oil level sensor in place of the factory Rx-7 one. Its advantage is a cleaner install, smaller size, and no more wires hanging outside the pan. Just a option, if somebody else would want it. Can be done at the same time of 20B conversion kit process. Or sent in just for this mod. I also prep the pan with a non-stick, sludge protectant coating.

1. 3 Independent Throttle Bodies and air box similar to GTO's old setup
2. Big single TB setup maybe using stock 20B or FD throttle body and elbow
I'm in the planning stages of this and the intake setup and header are the 2 unknown costs for me. I don't know anyone where I currently live that I could trust to build either.

I will when I can. I am busy machining the NA turbo ones for S4-5 engines right now. Do you have any more of yours? Or are you only running the ITB setup you showed?
