FD motormounts

Curious why the fc 20b mounts wont work in the fd? I have seen the 13brew drop dirrectly into a fc so why couldnt it work likewise with engine mounts? Only downside i could see is it sit higher than if you made custom subframe. Please give me more information on this. Im collecting information to putgether a web faq and start my own project. Also what is the issue with the oil pan?

Uh, FC versus FD has radiacally different engine mounting systems.

Uh, it's not a direct swap.
In fact, it's more of a pain in the *** to swap the 13B-REW FD3S engine into the FC3S versus either of the Cosmo motors, especially with the help of pre-made engine mounts adapters.

Um, this has been covered many times in a lot of the FD threads in this section.

just stack your 20B with 13B rear plate, problem solved, get a custom oil pan, and you're set

if you go with this procedure you will have to cut the uim , otherwise youre hood will not close (unless you have a gigantic hood scoop a la MAD MAX ) also there are a few tricks regarding this custom oil pan when clearing the steering rack , oh and bye the way , you will also have to match port the plates as the ones for 13b and 20b have different sizes

When it is all said and done, it is about twice as expensive & work than buying a subframe/spindle kit. But, if you want it done right..
