downsize 20b re to a 13b re?

I'ma little new to the 13b, and 20b re engine. I was curious if you can take a 20b re and downsize it to a 13b re and use a 13b re intake manifold. I wasn't sure if they were the same engine.

I also read people talking about different versions of the 20b. What were the weaknesses? Do they also have problems like the 13bt with rear iron cracking?

I would like a longblock, but I can't trust the jdm engines

I read it and only got from post # 18 that housings and rotors are, which is already known. So I'm guessing the irons from a 20b can not be used for a 13b re build

Why you would want to down size it to a 13b rew is beyond me, but with the exception of the e-shaft and centre plate the rest is the same as a 13b rew for the most part (some of the through bolt holes are larger etc)

The general consensus on the difference between series of engines is that the C and D series engines have a stronger e-shaft and a reinforced rear end plate.

You cant trust JDM engines???? what do they lie to you, an engines an engine ...do your home work have it checked, if your thinking 20b on a budget your fairly well dream.

As anyone with one will tell you they are an expensive game

I don't want to purchase a 13bre for $2000 to find out a rotor and housing is bad. Nobody offers warranty, and if I were to get one, the minimum would be at least the o ring kit to take it apart to change the exhaust sleeve.

I already have spare 13bt housings. I just had the thought of getting 13b re irons, and if 20b pieces would work, I could build a 13b re from 20b re irons. I already know the price of a 2 rotor rebuild, and I don't want to think about a 3 rotor
