Mainly just curious, but i wondered if it's possible and what parts would i need to get from a 20b in order to build my own, using 13 b parts for the rest?

It is theoretically possible as you'd need the E-shaft, thick middle iron and another rotor housing, but I don't think it would be worth the effort.

The JC Cosmo has considerably large intake ports on its irons. Port matching would take some serious effort and I think the closest starting point would be to use FD irons and port them to match the thick middle iron. As for the exhaust ports, it's not really an issue as long as all of your rotor housings are the same (S5T2, FD, etc). IIRC, the Cosmo housings are somewhere between the S5T2 and FD in their 'evolution'. They also have diffusers in the exhaust ports, I believe for noise reasons. If you're using all matching housings, it doesn't really matter much.

As for mounting the engine, it depends on the donor 13B's origin and the car you wish to mount it in. A factory 20B has its mount brackets bolted to the rear and middle iron via a pair of M12x1.5 studs. This is where Banzai Racing mounts attach as well. Not sure if the FD irons have the machining for these, but a close look can tell its secrets.

It sounds like an interesting project. Ambitious, a bit out of the ordinary, but interesting to see how you'd overcome the set of challenges along the way. Who knows, we might all learn something from it.

Sounds like it's not worth the effort... Better just start to save up for a complete 20B instead...
