"Best" Standalone for 20B

I'm going to be buying an ECU shortly for my 20B setup in my FD , and am looking for opinions on which is the best one to purchase. I assume a Motec would be the best, but I do not want to spend that kind of money. Ive done over an hour of searching on the subject, and I come up with alot of contradicting information. People saying the microtechs are junk, some saying the Haltechs are unreliable , customer service sucks, etc.. Anyway, for people who are currently running an ECU, let me know what you would recommend, and why. I am looking for :
1)Easy to setup/tune with
2)Reliable
3)Customer service if I would have a problem

Also, are the 20B basemaps available for any ECU?

I would say go with the ecu that can be tuned in your area unless you plan to fly a person in or tune it yourself.

Agreed.
Unless you're a wiz at one of these systems, get the one you'll get the best support for.
The "best" EMS isn't worth squat if you don't know what you're doing with it.

If i were building a 20b I would go with the Electomotive TEC3 ecu, and Dee from maryland is an authorized dealer for the unit. The Tec3 is very user friendly and could be learned with alil help from Dee and motivation. I'm sure he can help you out alot but since youre in HI I guess go with an ecu most tuners out there are accustomed to using if you don't want to learn how to tune yourself...

I agree on using the Tec3. Another source for support is Ray at PFS in Frederick, MD.
