Talking About To Buy A 20b

WANTED SOME ADVICE..I AM FIXING TO BUY A 20B FROM A GUY THAT HAS 4 OF THEM. 2 RUNNING ONES AND A COUPLE THAT ARE BASICALLY BLOWN, HE SAYS THEY HAVE LOW COMPRESSION IN ONE CHAMBER. MY PLAN FOR THE MOTOR IS IN A COUPLE YEARS WHEN I CAN AFFORD EITHER A KIT CAR OR A 3RD GEN, I WILL REBUILD THE MOTOR INTO A BEAST. THE QUESTION I HAVE---IS IT A GOOD GAMBLE THAT ON THE LOW COMPRESSION MOTOR THAT I AM WANTING TO BUY, IS IT MOST LIKELY REBUILDABLE WITHOUT MUCH PROBLEM? OR WHEN THE APEX SEALS GO DOES IT USUALLY HARM THE HOUSING ALOT? I AM WANTING TO BUY THE "BLOWN" ONE BECAUSE IT'S ONLY 1500 INSTEAD OF 3400 FOR HIS RUNNING MOTORS. THANX

YOU CAN PROBABLY REBUILD IT... oops, I had to switch my brain into caps lock mode just to read your post and then must have turned mine on in the process. Good thing I caught it before I typed too much. I'm no mod, so I can't tell you to remember to leave your caps lock button switched off at all times, but it's easier to read in lower case, so anyway, yeah.

You could buy the blown one and just get another rotor housing and S5 rotor for it. It's really not that difficult. I got a 20B recently that had low compression on all three sides of all three rotors. It's worth it.
