748whp / 542 TQ @ 19 psi - 93 octane

I was getting the tune checked out before spring arrives and made an interesting discovery. The last tune produced 630 whp/ 488 TQ. Since the tune I found an issue with the WG that was causing the boost to come on real slow. Since getting the WG issue resolved, I wanted to get things checked out. Also since the last tune, I made a custom cold air intake and installed a screen of "Outerwear" material to protect the engine/turbo.
Now, on the dyno, the first pull made 630 like before but the boost fell off bad at high rpms...down to 13 psi.
We removed the intake, the boost stayed close to 19 and it made 734 whp. A couple of tweaks and it made 748. I was blown away that 1, the car would made that and 2 that the intake was that restrictive.

Thanks. It is a PT74.. A/R is slightly over 1 as I recall. It is a large street port.

You may have to drive it to get those numbers. I'm still on a stock rear end and axles so I turned it down just a little for the street. I'm looking for a Kaaz and axles now. What rear end are you using?

Im saying this in advance before somone knocks the dyno/torque numbers. THere are multiple cars here that make 420ish whp on pump gas on the same dyno, weigh 2500+lbs, FWD, run 10's, trap 130ish. stock trans/axel cars.

I would be happy to drive it for you. BTW David Jerome on here has a kaaz for sale. Or just do a Tii and PFS brace.

Congrats man!

I haven't seen the calibration for the dyno. Precision Turbo rates the 74mm turbo as 1060hp. I'm not a dyno number junkie. So, OK take 10% off the dyno number and it is 675 whp. What I was sharing with the forum is that is a lot of HP on pump gas...a car that you can drive to the grocery store, or at Deals Gap, etc. Also, don't underestimate the restrictions of an intake.

Bobby dont even worry about it. You have a very nice setup and even out racing it makes it better.

This is not the same turbo that was on it when I saw it at RX7store a few years ago is it? I thought I remembered it having a little tiny turbo on it?
