What do ya'll think about this doosey? Now whether or not it would hit is another issue, but this is the basic design. I think it looks ugly, but was wondering if it would work?

er uh... arent 20b rotors NOT 120 out of phase? I thought two of them were in the same phase and the third one was 180 out from that?

No, they are exactly 120 degrees from each other. The two rotor is 180 degrees.

shadamn. i could have SWORN that the two rotors that are closer to each other were in teh same phase and the third one was 180 out. Where could i have gotten this idea? I thought that's what explained the 20b's funny sounding exhaust note.

Not too sure where you got it, but its not easy to see unless you have one in your hand. The sound hits 3 times per rev, unlike a 2-rotor hitting 2 times, hence the badass sound. If two were on the same phase, with one 180 out, two would have to fire at the same time, since a rotary is not like a 4 cycle piston engine with two TDC, one intake, one exhaust. It would be way out of balance, with uneven power, and sound like a messed up two rotor. If all that makes any sense.

Well i can imagine the 120 phase no problem. this is how i first thought of these motors until i read, or someone told me otherwise. buuut. i guess they were wrong.
my whole world has come crashing down.

Anyone know what the firing order for the 26B motor is? maybe i was thinking of that one.

1,2,3,4 rotor fire. With 90 degree phase difference between each one. That is not counting the aftermarket 4-rotors, which some company's offer cheaper ones that fire two rotors at once, aka 1+3 and 2+4 at 180 degree phase. But the 90 degree 4-rotor is the one that sounds like a F1 car, at 5,000 rpms its hitting as often as a 2-rotor at 10,000rpms hence the crazy high sound.

I do not see the point of having 2 runners go into one port, one runner longer than the other. Do you have evidence why this would help?
