20B in Rx-3

I just wanted to restart my thread because the other one had too much clutter from me learning how to use all the forum tools.

Anyway, taking it from the top . . .
I got my 1973 Rx-3 Wagon from Canada

I got my cosmo front clip with C-series 20B from Chicago

Pulled the motor from the front clip and started breaking off the unneccesary (power steering, AC, emissions, etc)

Started prettying up the motor by painting the intake and putting on a block off plate kit. The rotor housings are going to be polished up and the rest will be painted black as well.

The motor and front sub-frame from the wagon have been removed and a design has been made to accept the subframe from the cosmo front clip so that the cosmo's engine cradle, suspension, and front brakes can be used.

Basically, a pillow-ball mount will be welded into a tubular frame with the same spacing as the top of the strut towers in the front clip. The cosmo's subframe is 3" wider on both sides, so I'm just gonna have some 1/2" angle iron with triangular gussets welded onto the existing frame to accept the bolts that held the subframe on the cosmo. All of the fitment is amazingly agreeable, as though the great rotary gods above have given this project their blessing.

I'm using a series five Turbo II transmission and either a Ford 9" or 8.8" with 3.70 or 3.73 gears respectively. I'm pretty well set on using an AEM EMS, but Microtech LT12s is still a possibility. Still need to get an intercooler because the one from the front clip had very major embrittlement. Haven't begun to look at suspension, wheels, or brakes.

As always, any input is welcome and greatly appreciated.

That's cool. It's always nice to see something different and not the same old, same old.

LOL, then again, I wouldn't mind the same old 20B in my FC

This car because I love the front end on Rx-3s and I wanted something original. As dead sexy as 20B fcs and fds are, I want something that I'll never see someone else in. Also, pre-75 means no emissions whatsoever.

I will keep posting updates as they occur. Thanks for the interest.
