20B Power Range

Is it possible, in theory to get a 20B to produce roughly 80% of its power in the midrange say 3500-4000? Anybody have some samples of dyno runs with a 20B. Were shooting for roughly 450 rwhp or about 500-550 at the crank.

The stock 20B-REW creates 97% of its peak torque at 2200rpm, peak torque at 3000rpm, and holds above 90% torque to the redline of 7000rpm.

Various dyno results:

Attached is a pic of a standard 20B powered Cosmo doing a dyno run.

Putting 222bhp down makes it good for the 300hp mark at the engine.

This particular Cosmo has 70,000km on the clock & runs a "C-series" engine.

No modifications were on the car at the time of the dyno run.

Emissions

The next stage is emissions. I know...ha ha ha!!! But seriously, has anyone made a 20B emissions worthy? We live in MA and we have the full Dyno getup here. Pretty strict. Has anyone made the 20B pass emissions? Keep in mind the Power range we're looking for.

The first PFS 20B-in-a-3rd-gen passed Maryland emissions testing. It was fitted with an aftermarket highflow cat. IIRC, Peter de-tuned the car prior to testing, then restored the optimal maps afterward.

IOW, if you use an aftermarket computer (PFS used twin Electromotive Tec-II units), you can create a map just for testing purposes.
