20b omp

Hi Guys.

Does anyone know have the 20B OMP behaves without the wires connected?
I run the engine with premix but have noticed the the oil lines are full of oil. Before the rebuild we hadn't bothered connecting the oil lines and the engine block was soaked in oil.

Could it be that without electrical input to control it it just operates on some mechanical level? And if so what level could that be? a little or maybe a lot of oil because of oilpresure?

Cheers

It will still operate mechanically, the engine is still turning the worm drive inside it which drives the pumping mech, as to what its default is I'm not sure but most things that are engineered logically will build in a fail safe (full flow/half flow) if your premixing I'm surprised that you didn't blank off the OMP

I don't know about the control side, but just FYI, oil pressure makes no difference to the MOP, as its oil feed passage is vented into the front cover, so it sees roughly the same pressure no matter what.
