So is your car running or is it a very expensive garage decoration?

People talk a lot of **** when it comes to 20B's.
I think the number of RUNNING 20B's can be counted with both hands at this point.
It can't be more than two dozen.
I bet the number is down to an even dozen to those members on here.
How many of them are FC's?
I don't think it even breaks 10.

You are really obnoxious with your comments. I have been making great progress with my 20B. The whole engine has been rebuilt. I like my stuff looking nice. I have all the parts I need to get her done.

I'm sorry you think a 20B is extremly hard to do and is stupid because people take too long to finish them. It's really not a hard conversion. It takes a long time to do the conversion if you want it to look nice.

Your negative comments are very rude for a person who thinks of himself highly on this forum. Why even post int he 20B section if all you do is cut people down!

If anyone wants to track my 20B conversion, it's available here:

http://www.rotaryheads.com/2gen/3rotor/

Again, lighten up man.

Most anyone can bolt a 20b into an fc. All you really need are the custom engine mounts. You can buy them from a number of sites.

So you're like 95% of the folks who try this project...
Why don't you get back to us when you get it driving around reliably...

Don't you just hate it when people put words into your mouth?
I never explicitly stated it was "extremely hard to do" - stop putting words into my mouth.
In fact, I call the swap pretty damn easy if you got the right resources.
I would rather do a 20B swap than a stupid 13B-REW swap, personally.
If you read all my posts, you'd understand that.

What my point is about the 20B swap into an FC is that people don't realize what they getting themselves into.
I did not say it was hard.
There's a subtle difference - can you figure it out?

It's sorta like when I got my electric yellow cichlids.
I started out with a 10G tank.
Then I found out they needed a minimum 30G or LARGER tank to be happy.
Keeping these fish isn't hard.
I just didn't know what I was getting myself into.
Now I have a $300 60G acrylic fish tank just to keep my three small electric yellow cichlids.
The total cost to keep these fish happy is starting to come close to $700!
Who'd have thought $15 in fish would cost me so much damn money.

SEE MY POINT???

Yeah, I guess it's still PC to be told off to "get your rocks off" and not be insulted...I guess.

TO ALL YOU PEOPLE WHO HAVE A PROBLEM WITH ME, SEND THAT **** TO ME IN PM.
We don't need to throw all that trash into here, when it has nothing to do with the subject matter.
Shame on you for airing your dirty laundry about your hatred towards me when it contributes nothing to the thread.

first off, this whole thread is hilarious. . . I have literally laughed out loud on multiple occasions.

if you guys go back and read who started this whole mess, it wasn't Ted. all he said was "make your own" which is the only real advice that could be given with the amount of information 2wankel had given on his buildup. everyone knows that the header is gonna have to be custom fabricated. he decided to take that wrong and start a pissing contest by responding with a ridiculous sarcastic remark.

then, everyone tells Ted to just ignore the post if its gonna upset him so much and so on and blah blah. . . yet they don't realize they're being hypocritical because that's exactly what the **** they should be doing. if you don't like Ted, ignore him. how hard is it to ignore someone over the internet? he gave sound advice, got a stupid response, and now he's getting pissed on by everyone. . .that's retarded. just because his answers are concise and he doesn't go out of his way to befriend you in each response you don't have to get sensitive about it.

sorry for the rant, i just had to pipe in because too many threads end up in online pissing matches

I come from a 425+hp T66 TII. Also a 400 hp sequential FD. I want more.

You think everyone is some child who doesn't know anything? Your 14,000 post count doesn't mean jack when all you do is critisize people. This is "Tech and Performance", not " You're a Dumbfuck and Performance". I've been on this board as long as you have, and I don't post up bullshit like this.

Don't you just hate it when people put words into your mouth?

Both have been done.
When you get your 20B up and running reliably, then start mouthing off about how you got yours running.
Right now, I call your project NOT COMPLETED - do you have a problem with that?

Wah wah wah...whine whine whine.
I guess you don't listen.
PM this **** to me in private.
The whole world doesn't need to know how you feel about me.

You have an ego which can't take my replies, and you NEED to show everyone that you're not a sissy and can dish out vulgarities with the best of them.
I tell you what...you succeeded.

I am not putting words in your mouth. You said those exact words. Oh wait! I'm sorry, you said them backwards. Dyslexic sentences aren’t exact. I forgot.

I really don’t care what you think of my 20B project. I don’t have an ego problem. You apparently do. This is certainly not bantering. It’s that you lack etiquette with your name calling. A lot of people will agree with me too, which is why I don’t need to send you any love letter PMs.

I’ve been reading your negativity for a while and just thought I’d point it out. I’m done, unless you want to retort.

Wait, so its not possible to run the light / high comp S5 rotors in a 20b block is it? No proper counterweight, right?

Anything is possible with money. Have a machine shop make one and balance it to your setup.

SHUT THE F**K UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Your like a bunch of 4th graders!

If you dont have an answer for the mans question then DONT POST. I dont care if you think he is just a 14 year old with a pipe dream. If it isnt directly related to what he asked then just DONT POST!

And with that Ill put in my two cents.

Almost SURE you will have to make one. You can take the stock turbo manifold and cut the flange off and re-weld on new pipes and a collector. A good fabricator will be able to do this. Matter of fact you might be able to find an exhaust shop with mandrel bent tubing and enough skill to do somthing like this. If the shop does any racecar work (like the guys who go dirt racing down hear.. endless amount of welding skill). But also RACINGBEAT.COM sells a 20B flange (In the FC section under exhaust flanges). Its just over $40 too! So if I were you I would by the RB flange and take it and the car to a fabricator and have him weld up a good manifold with a collector and rout that to the mid pipe (or do the whole system custom). By the way you can use either a V6 collector (3 into 1) or if you cant find one (which an exhaust shop should be able to get) they might be able to modify one for a V8 (4 into 1). Hope everything works out good. BTW which rotors do you plan on using... I imagine you'll be using S5 NAs.

Well I don't mean to hijack the thread, and I'm not exactly sure what 2wankel is planning to do, but I was just inquiring sort of about making an all-motor 20b. That is, S5 high compression rotors (or rx8 rotors if I win the lottery).
I am not worrying about the N/A header for it because I know I can build one, the local speed shop sells mandel bent tubing pretty cheap Blair's Speed Shop, if you're anywhere near Los Angeles.

But I was under the impression that the kind of balancing weight I'd need wouldn't be as simple as just having a shop grind a bit off of another counterweight until the rotating assembly is statically balanced. That is, it seems more like this will require some careful measuring, drawing in CAD, blueprinting, and CNC machining. Of course, if someone else has already got this figured out, please do tell! Of course, I could probably better use the money to get a nice big single turbo and build a manifold rather than blowing it on an N/A setup....

The whole thing was dropped like 2 weeks ago.
Why you gotta dredge up the whole thing for???
Why you gotta put up YOUR 2 cents when the whole matter was laid to rest two weeks ago?
Why don't you shut the **** up?
