20b + GT42R

So I have a D series 20b that has cleaned up ports, and balanced. Basically stock. I dyno'd 440 @ 6psi on the factory twins (in parrallel) with 396 to the wheels. My concern is spooling the GT42R, the A/R being 1.15. Any ideas of when I can expect boost? What kind of power could I make from this turbo?

Thanks

Travis

If this helps I have a GT80 R-trim 1.32 A/R I would get full boost by roughly 5k. I also have a 1.15 but I killed my tranny before I could try it.

BTW: where in MN are you located?

Did someone say GT42R?

Spool up should be similar to the T-76 compressor with the same hot side ( <3,000rpms with a 1.00, 4,500 with a 1.32). With the ball bearing center section and 1.15 A/R predict it will have good response at less than or equal to 3,500 rpms.

I put together a kit around the GT42. It went on a ported 13b. Max boost comes in at about 4500. I have no first hand experience but I would imagine that a GT42 on a STOCK 3-rotor would be avery nice setup.

you made 396hp to the wheels @ 6 psi on the stock twins? I find that a little hard to beleave givin the size of the stocks twins.

i just got my 42R (1.15 a/r) from a-spec and am in the process of getting everything finalized on the car, after my breakin i'm dynoing and will have all the info you might need, including video's of the car on the dyno, on the street, in car action ect, in addition to the dyno sheet. its a ported D series with REW housings. i thought i read that a ported 2 rotor can spool the 1.15 to 1bar by 3800-4000 rpm. my goal is to have it spool like an apexi rx-6 on a 2 rotor.

chris- when are you going to be up and running?

We have a ways to go, and since you're using the same motor/turbo combo, I think I am going to slow down so I can make changes based on how your project turns out
