You've got it bad when...

Obsession or Dedication?
You know you've got it bad when you stay up till the wee hours in the morning with your eyes half open, but still reading posts and threads while trying to stay awake and gain as much information as possible. this is a description of me right now. it's only 1:59am but still i'll be up for a while if my eyelids allow me. Obsession or Dedication?

Any other "You've got it bad when..." lines you guys can think of?

Youve got it bad...
When its pissing down with rain, flodding your carport while your underneath your 7 swapping the clutch, covered in mud blood and tears. Even if your soaking wet, freezing cold, tired as hell and sore.... youll still look at it as a good day because you worked on your baby

well im crazy... and wet.. lifes a bitch, ill survive

Its dedication, its love... its OBSESSION

you know you've got it bad when you go thru four damn carbeurators during a 6 month period only to not have any of them work right and then finally to go back to the original and have it fire right up. after all this to be completely happy even after so long, just because you finally got it running, whether it was your fault for making it die or not.

Falling asleep on a creeper under a rotary project car at 5AM when you're used to going to bed at 11PM to midnight is pretty bad. Or is it?

instead of studying for your upcoming finals (three of them in three days) you are looking at posts while sitting in the library where you specifically went to get away from distractions...

crap.

Leaving work at 6pm only to decide "screw it" and come back in a half hour and finish putting that Poncho engine together.

I get to play with some *neat* machinery where I work. And my boss wants to see how a rotary goes together... this could get interesting

looks like we are in about the same page, but I have "systems software", "differential equations and linear algebra", and "discrete mathematical structures" exams... maybe I should study?

...nah, rx7club.com is definitely the better choice

after wrecking my first rx-7, and now having this second one sitting in my driveway WAITING to get registered and insured, it kills me to not be able to drive her, but it makes my girlfriend super jealous.

I am known around here for my love of driving, specifically driving my rx-7 (my first one which I'll probably sell to fix up my "new" one)

I am the only person on my campus with a 1st gen, and am damn proud of it (rich kids go here driving around audi's and vett's and wrx's etc etc etc)

if it ain't a rotor, it ain't a motor

You got it bad when everytime you call home you ask how the car is first.

You got it bad when you stay up all night for weeks researching the next mod. That you can't afford.

You got it bad when your paycheck goes entirely to your car.

You got it bad when you're still online reading posts when you surely should be in bed.

Let's see here...
Fallen asleep on creeper under car-done that.
Staying up way past bed time reading post-done that.
Reading a whole bunch of post on mods I can't afford-don that.
I think we are all the same about our sevens here. That makes us one heck of a club if you ask me!

You've got it bad...
When everytime to get out of your car you look back while you walk away. Not because you are double checking something, you just like to look at it! Oh, and you sit outside not to look at the beautiful mountain view around you, or the trees, birds, etc. You just sit and admire your seven! That's obsession...

Well, I've swapped 4 engines into my Z28 now, changed heads 5 times, changed exhaust 4 times (going on 5 now) all by myself and usually in my dads driveway I paid $0 for the rx-7 but paid $236 for a seat made of aluminum and paid $175 to get it out of impound when my old apartment towed it.

The most extreme ? I was doing a cam swap on my camaro in winter. I dropped a bolt into what I thought was the oil pan. So, I pull the pan. In the snow. At night. My parents couldn't find me because I was outside, on the grass and the bottom half of my body that was sticking out from under the car was covered in about 2 feet of snow after about an hour. I had a hellish time trying to get out...lol

This is all for love. I do the same for my cars as I do for my friends and family (and most of the time for their cars too, liek spending 16 hours swapping a cap and rotor for a buddy of mine. Stupid GM front mount distributors )

You know you've got it bad when you finish putting together the latest mod and you're happy with that mod for about a week, then you tear off all the stuff you just did so you can do it differently.

You have it bad when you begin to cry huge tears of joy because you found a new parts car for your 79, and that means she finally gets that new door and console she has been wanting.

... you plan your weekend around trips to the u-pull-it parts yard and it doesn't matter if you find anything you need, just that you've been there and checked things out.
