Talking You guys will want to castrate me...

Well I don't know how to break the news. My 1983 GSL is now sitting in my driveway with little hope of being driven. It runs great beyond the smoke at 7K. Bearing noise is pissing me off something fierce, and I just committed the most heinous act of defile to 1st gen owners. I bought a 2nd gen!!!!! This is what I got, I'll post a pic when I borrow a digicamera. 1991 TII!!!!!!!!

HAHAHAHAHHA I've had the biggest **** eating grin on my face for the last 24 hours. The thing pulls like a freaking beast, has only 77K on the odo. Black, with those somewhat spokey lookin stock rims.

Things i've noticed when compared with my old car.

1. Its faster.
2. It doesn't need everything replaced.
3. The a/c works...great and summers freakin over.
4. It doesn't smoke.
5. It reflects light instead of absorbing it.
6. Atleast my old one didn't have a muffler leak!
7. Leather is cool.
8. I get more stares from ricers now; they don't try anything though....
9. I could get up to 40ish in second with the oldy, now up to 50.
10. BOOST!! OMFG!!!

I'm still gonna keep the GSL, it was my first car! Way I look at it, i'm just gonna pay off the TII, get a few reliability things (turbo timer and such) then restore the GSL, hopefully get it set up for autocross and spec-rx7. That way I don't dog out my TII. I woke up this morning and I still can't believe it, I walk outside and its like im in a dream.

Amazingly enough, I like the clutch and shift feel of the first gen as opposed to the second gen.

Joe

Not sure I understand the point of your post?

You had a totally spent first gen, and you have replaced it with a second gen.

Good for you, and congratulations on your new Rex.

No, Josepi, getting a second gen is not the most hienous act. Dropping in a V8 is, haven't you been paying attention? Congrats on your new car.

I'm worse, I'm taking a $500 GSLSE and ripping its heart out for my project car. I'm just about ready to pull the engine. Marked the wires and removed all the plumbing.

The body is certainly destined to the scrap yard. If I'm going to build up an -SE, I'll pay a little more next time for a car in much better shape to begin with.

What a shame. I can just see how awesome she was in better days.

But part of her will live on....

most henious act. second gen and V8 swaps do not qualify. I think writting "mazda racing" and "power by mazda" on the grime covering your car is the most henious act.

Actually since I found that stickers are considered heinous; i'll now be scraping the VTEC and TYPE R stickers off my T2!

j/k

Id rather eat a mouthfull of buckshot before doing that...I was cruising around looking for trouble last night (read ricer hunting). They always seemed to be going in the opposite direction, or not even try me. The only one that did was a ZX2; I toyed with him through 1st gear, then when I saw he was riding my ***, I took it to 45-50 in 2nd, deploying him about 10 car lengths behind me. He turned off the road after that....oh well. Pics up this afternoon!

Most of my paint is faded a few shades except for the back where there once was a stupid "Life at 250kph" sticker. I just don't understand what people are thinking sometimes.

But congrats on your 2nd
