Hrm.. I just fired up my other rx7 and im getting this incredibly loud ticking from the rear area with just the key turned and when the car is on it's like earthquake the ride all over again! I'm thinking fuel filter aye? Or maybe the pump itself?

 

You're right. Fuel pump goes tick-tick-tick when key is on whether or not motor is running. MIght just need a new fuel pump. Replace fuel filter with a three buck purolator or fram clear plastic filter and give it a retry.
