Yet another bushing question...

...because we seem to need another one.

Anyways, I replaced my front sway bar bushings and saw that also connected to the asssembly are these other arms that go toward the front of car (you must disconnect these to get the front sway bar off). There is a rather large bushing attached to this arm (2 total, one on each side). Does this do anything vital? I would assume so, but I havent been able to find any bushing that even seems like the right size. I am talking, roughly 3.5 inch diameter. I am thinking that if you were to put a poly bushing on there, it would take a pretty decent sized person to get the arm back to where it needs to be. It was hard enough to get it back on with the original one. My original rubber bushings in this location are cracked but havent deteriorated as much as most of the other bushings concerning the front end. Ideas???

I believe you are speaking of the strut rod bushings. Energy makes some to replace those and we have a spherical design for those now.

I found out they are the tension rods. I guess it would help if I knew what this stuff was called... Might make stuff a bit easier to figure out in times like these.

Yeah, I've got new bushings for those (from P-S-T.com) but haven't tried to put them in yet. I'm hoping it won't be too much of a B@tch..

everything's a bitch when your trying to take apart a 27 (in my case) year old suspension. It's like, with everything I'm trying to take off, there's at least one nut/ bolt that is just welded in place.

I wonder what working on a new car must be like....
