Have the Op to get an 87 FC ton turbo rearend. IS the linkage even close, or will i have to cut and weld? Has anyone ever done it, is it worth it?

NO WHERE near close. two totally different designs. IRS vs solid rear axle.

a member has done a miata IRS swap. it was VERY extensive and required a lot of cutting, welding, measuring, and knowledge.

not easy, but would be sweet!

Maybe Im a lil more "lets cut and well because we can", but down here swaps from solid rear axle to independent are common.

If you have your own place to do the work, tools and know how to weld... go for it.

If you dont, just dont

The handling of the 7 is supposed to be really good even without IRS
