yeay my car wont start now

my car was running alright, drive it daily for the last 4-1/2 months. the other day I decided Id try geting my weber a little more dialed in. I get out the timing light to check what the last guy did (a shop that attempted to tune it) it was way advanced, (could have been why it was ideling fast and wouldnt drop back to idle). so I retard it about 2-3 deg. advance as in spec. I drove it around that day (fri.) worked great, idled real smooth at right around 1k, everyonce in awhile it would drop down and try to die so I was gunna just deal with it sat. went to work etc acame home, got up started my car at like 9 am to move it to the other side of the driveway, started great. then i did not try to start the car (or do anything at all for that matter) for the rest of the day, until 11pm, went to start it and it would not start just cranked, did the wheery noise. I have since gotten new plugs, checked for spark re- advanced the timing, readjusted the carb. nothing works.
it is getting spark to the plugs, good plugs it is getting fuel (smells after awhile) it jsut keeps crankind doesnt really sound like its trying to fire, ( like it has no compression, but we wont go there).
I am stumped and really pissed that i cant leave well enough alone, anyone have any ideas, they would e greatly apreciated.

Dustin

perhaps one of the floats are stuck...not too familiar with the webers. that is fairly common. i had a chevy sprint once.... floats would stick. i would tap the side of the carb where the float was and boom, she'd start every time the float stuck. in your case, i would use a rubber mallet. hopefully you dont have to resort to that method!

Sounds like you flooded it by starting it and moving it to the other side of the driveway and then shutting it off. Notorious for that problem, especially with a Weber dumping extra fuel in there. Search for it, and you'll find how to fix it.

it ryed deflooding it, as in unpluged the pump, pulled the plugs and turned the engien over, didnt help, so i pumped oil into the ehgine through my omp lines still the same. il try, other stuff, gregs and rotormotor, searching this forum never leads very far for me somany things are merely mentioned in postes then people reply with "search, and the search goes by most recent leaving useful information buried under a bunch f usless stuff, if you change it to most common or whatever, you get the same stuff only mixed up, I needed a quick answer while it was still light, but thanks for the obligatory fallback answer.
