YAY!!! I drove the car!!... but, big, big problem. HELP
Well, overall, i love the car, it stays flat in turns, responds true to seering inputs, holds the road damned well... and goes like a bad out of hell.
Problem:
about halfway through my drive, once the car was already warmed up and whatnot, below 3k in any gear it would buck like crazy, and the only way to make it driveable was to downshift and keep it above 3k-3.5k
it almost seems like it's running on one rotor at that point... but it surges badly, it makes it impossible to drive the car smooth and sedately... you can drive it fast and have it be smooth, because you get the rev's up fast. The reason this bothers me is that it was working FINE for the first part of the drive, and then became very tempermental...
anyone have suggestions?
PS: i also have at least one blown strut in the front, so that's a good excuse for some tokicko's and eibachs... but i'm torn between that and coilovers....

maybe somthing wigged out with the trailing ignition..
Check over your DLIDFIS......
And if you ran it from completely stock wiring, the 1980 was built to cut off the trailing while warming up, maybe its getting cut off while warmed up... try that...
check your fuel filter too
cause it might be clogged
I dunno ill shut up now

actually, i'm starting to think that it may be a problem with the choke, and how i have the cable rigged... possibly not having it relased enough, so it's partially on, making it wayyyy too rich down low, but i can cope up high.... maybe
i'll check that out when i get outside to go to school.

maby it could be a bad engine ground, mine used to buck REAL bad at the same rpm, about 3-4000 rpm when cruzing. I noticed it was actually missing a ground and after I installed it, it never happened again, you might try adding engine grounds or replacing the old ones, cause the old ones maby be having a poor connection
