yay got a 1st gen!! couple questions

Hey, I've had a FC for a while now, but I'm getting ready to do some major work/upgrades to it so I needed a DD. Found a 79 RX7 SA22(?) for $450. Runs, drives great, good clutch... hell even the AC works. Just curious what I should know about these cars, like what is different with it? I am a complete newbie with carbuerators (sp). Any advice on things to check out on the car?

The FAQ on here offers great information. I highly suggest buying a Haynes manual right now. Heh. It is the bible of the 1st gen community.

Wow, great pick up for $450. Welcome to the wonderful world of 1st gens. Check the faq and use the search tool and you should learn about everything you need to know. Carbs aren't that tough, just require some research before digging into. They also require some experience, but you've got a whole knowledge base of people here.

As far as specific things to look for, just give it a general inspection for leaks, rust and what not. Otherwise as long as it runs and drives good then you are probably good mechanically. I'm sure someone else can give you a more complete list of specific things to check.

Got any pics of the 7 yet?
